cenobite (DayZ) 14 Posted January 2, 2014 Heres my issue, not sure if someone can please spread some light on this. I carry an m4 and a mosin. I am generally on "watch"when i play with a team, but often do i play solo, so the m4 is great for house sweeping. If you find both, its a great combo. My issue is simple. I can not switch between the two OR anything that goes in your hands, (compass/drinks/food/ladders etc) without throwing one of the guns on the ground. Now that is really annoying. Has anyone found a solution to carrying both rifles without having to drop one every-time you want to do something?
Jaybopper 49 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) The reason you are dropping one on the ground is because you have nowhere else to put it Edited January 2, 2014 by Jaybopper
derpdiggler 69 Posted January 2, 2014 I believe this is intended. My recommendation is to lose the m4 and stick to the mosin with a 45, if the mosin style is what you like.
WalkerDown (DayZ) 296 Posted January 2, 2014 It's the price to pay by having two girls... it's nice under certain aspects, but a nightmare to handle.

cenobite (DayZ) 14 Posted January 2, 2014 Ok so the solution is , carrying both = deal with annoyance. Or carry one as intended? Which is fine either way, i was wondering if that was the only solutions :)

I guess you need to wait for a gunbag to achieve this.If it's really implemented, I'd like to see, that your char would need to kneel when accessing gunbag and not magicaly pull 2nd rifle out in 1 second. Tactical sling would be ideal for the M4. Allows the rifle to swing to your side when you let go of it, so the operator can draw a handgun or do something else, hands free. At that point you would be able to draw the mosin. It would probably be clunky but the mosin is a long range weapon, and in most instances where you wouldnt want to be encumbered, you would have the M4 in hands. Aside from that, I would go mosin, and 45, fists for everything else, because if you haven't figured it out yet, fists = best weapon in game.
cenobite (DayZ) 14 Posted January 2, 2014 Gun-bag would be ideal, my ONLY grip is throwing my gun on the ground to eat, climb ladders, etc as mentioned. But for now Ill deal with the annoyance to carry two :) Not a complaint as much as a wondering as any1 figured out a better way. So far they havent. Hopefully soon, next few months or so something will come into play for this.

Dude you gotta teach me how to punch people properly then, cause I cant kill shit with them, any other melee weapons im fine with.
Crakka 44 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) The reason you are dropping one on the ground is because you have nowhere else to put ityou put your main on your left shoulder, why not be able to drag it into where your (axe/bat/crobar) and have it sit on your right shoulder. i really hope they allow you to carry 2 weapons without having to drop 1 every time you need to eat/drink Edited January 2, 2014 by Crakka

For zombie problems, I prefer fireman axes. 1 hit kill anywhere and I dont mind it on my back that much.
MystoganXIX 78 Posted January 3, 2014 (edited) I don't see why you can't substitute your axe/melee weapon slot for another gun slot. I've carried an axe before, I've shot an AR-15 before which is pretty similar to an M4A1 as far as space and weight are concerned. They weigh less than an axe. That way you can stay further back from the action so you dont get killed this time... :P

derpdiggler 69 Posted January 3, 2014 It's a balance thingMelee weapons are silent. As far as balance goes, it makes far more sense to allow people to carry two rifles at the expense of carrying a good melee weapon. The noise of the shots should bring plenty of zombies once they fix the ai and increase the number of zeds.
