Kos best solution

Lets face it removing kos or making a Karma system would not be good because that's what this game is about. By that I mean its not about Killing on sight but the freedom of choices you have and what you can do and how you want to do it. So the best solution is make ZOMBIES EXTREMELY DEADLY. I know that zombies are a WIP and still need to be re-done but once they get all that done I think that Kos will decrease because people will think twice before shooting someone because they know they will not make it out alive. So example I shoot my gun in a building and next think you know I got about 10 zombies running up to the building.

This wont stop me from killing on sight I know where all the military loot spawns are it takes less then 30 minutes to get a gun with enough ammo to ruin someones day so hooray for me~

I commend you for killing the people who don't have the skill to be cautious.

Kos means you were killed on sight why don't you just not get seen??? Hide behind a wall an yell at them to talk or shits gonna go downhill.

I agree with OP 100%. Hero/bandit skins are completely foolish and I know the devs will not go this route. Bandits will do whatever it takes to get the edge, IRL and in DAYz. No one in their right mind would advertise they are out to murder in this type of scenario.

Mm, if they tweak loot spawns, add more zombies, and make them more threatening it may hinder your playstyle somewhat.

I generally tend to avoid KoS whenever I can.  Remember, we were all noobs once, let them be.

 

Unless they see you and try to attack you, then feel free to blow em away.

 

Also if I see you actively ruining someones day for no real reason, like killing fresh spawns and such, consider yourself a target for my sniper.

I shoot the unarmed guy I saw, I get mauled by zombies I still killed him then I just run back to the military loot and grab a gun and rinse and repeat.

I have be known to KOS when I deem it necessary when I think there is to much risk in not killing someone, but I don't really wanna see KOS reduced it makes the game scary even if they buffed zombies Kos is a part of this game and banditry alows people that play hero characters to have someone to kill and a purpose apart from just giving aid to those in need.

Make weapon spawns rarer, ammo even rarer and make zombie numbers and their response to a gunshot increased and you may get players debating whether they should kill or evade a bit more.

 

Then again, maybe not. An unarmed player recently tried chasing and punching me while i was fully armed so some folk are just morons....

Indeed Demon.

Until such times as zombies are a threat I would love to see the good ol' skins back into the game. Because at the moment the ONLY ones who benefit from this game in cases of player interaction is the KoS-players. Because they have ONLY things to gain. While the rest is just dead.

Ok Gerandar instead of you killing 10 people you will just kill one and then it will take you another two hours or more before you can kill some one else.

Making loot rare is what cultivates killing on sight.

When loot is so uncommon, that it becomes faster to just murder other people for their gear, people will always kill>loot. This is a good tactic to keep people from banding together as you are always paranoid of losing your gear to some random person.

If loot were more common, it would reduce KOS because people would have fewer reasons to murder for gear that is readily available. It would dull the game, but would reduce the KOS, so it's a tradeoff.

If you're going towards the "make loot rare" standpoint, make guns/ammo SO rare that only 2-3 people per map would actually have them. Force players to have melee weapons to survive. That way when you hear a gunshot you know it was for a damn good reason instead of every noob with an M4 popping off rounds at will

also spread the good loot out versus having it only spawn in the airfields....hell that would stop KOS camping entirely if you ask me.

 

honestly in RL shtf, it would make more sense to have a rare gun spawn in the closet of a small house (hidden), then in the middle of a well known military base...lol

Totally agree with you Punrawks. Make loot rarer is a really bad idea. People will kill each other for gear because its easier than looking after loot...

Seriously? Another KoS thread. Dean himself said its no problem. Its a part of what makes DayZ the game it is. Again alot of weapons spawn now, beacause they are place holders and extremly easy to get. Its made like this beacause its alpha.

 

It will change in the future with loot balancing.. AND PLEASE USE SEARCH FUNCTION! Only 5559987538554122 other threads about KoS on here. So making a new one is more or less pointless
