zhrike 264 Posted January 2, 2014 I am having the same issue with equipping it, holding it, or using a quickbar and not being able to look at it while moving, but you can right-click on it in your inventory and choose "inspect" to get your bearings.
floj 393 Posted January 2, 2014 Press space to raise it up, you have to be walking or stationary to look at it... Or inventory + inspect means you can check it whilst sprinting

ImageCtrl 719 Posted January 2, 2014 (edited) You can´t see the compass in the lowest FOV without moving the head down.In normal settings press the hotkey for the compass (0-9) then press space. Look at the compass in first person mode. Edited January 2, 2014 by NoCheats
blfonsworth 32 Posted January 2, 2014 If you have the compass in your hands there are several ways to read it: In 1st person view, while standing still press SPACEIn the inventory window (TAB) you will be able to read it in the "Hands" inventory sectionIn the inventory window, right-click the compass -> "inspect" If you use it on a night server and are not using the Gama/Brightness trick, you will need to use the inventory window to view it properly.
ninjacalypse 551 Posted January 2, 2014 I would sure hate you be you in a zombie apocalypse, struggling to find out things for your self through trial and error. If there was an actual zombie apocalypse people wouldn't have to figure out their keyboard bindings and fov settings to use a real compass so I don't think that argument really applies. :P

I meant along the lines of as in using your own mind to figure out things for yourself. :) Edited January 2, 2014 by Deadend197

Except we're also in the northern hemisphere on this map so the sun rises and sets a bit to the south.
