I have a couple new friends and have seen a lot of reedit posts asking that same question. Woah, woah, woah! 

 

The standalone has Daylight?  I thought Daylight in DayZ SA was a myth.  I just assumed all the pics were from the mod which I never played.  I can actually see the beautiful landscape?  I can swing an axe at a Zombie and I wont have to repeatedly swing until I dont hear said Zed's demented squaks?  So the servers follow day/night cycles?  I enjoy this game too much to care either way, and I do love how scary it is sneaking around then shining your torchlight on to a Zombie only a few meters away.  It gets my blood flowing.  But I would also like to see the world that my computer is working so hard to load.

 

All annoying sarcasm aside, being so new I really did just assume that most people prefered playing at night.  I mean, I try my best to stick to a one server, but I felt like everyone moved magically at night, able to see without the flashlight, making my exploring seem terribly naive, basically having a beacon on to come hunt me.

Some servers I have been is always night time regadless of the hour I come in. Strange.

Yeah, I've noticed that also. I know there are some night time only servers, but I'm assuming your not referring to those. The alpha world is a strange beast indeed.

Good question. It seems to hold true...sometimes. I don't get it, maybe someone else can explain it. I definitely prefer filtering the servers as demonstrated in the video though.

Do some vids on the most effective melee and firearms. I've pretty much figured out the Hammer is useless, baseball bat it junk, ect, but at first... lol.

 

But i suppose finding all the weapons for a vid would be a pain.

I've considered doing this type of tutorial. I imagine it shouldn't be a problem. I would just have to record every time I came across something new. I know the melee weapons would be pretty beneficial to the beginners. I worry that the firearms have a good chance of getting tweaked in the near future for balancing. So I might wait on firearms for the moment until the dust settles a bit...maybe in the beta stage. But I think the melee tutorial / comparison is a great idea!
