thequantum 52 Posted December 31, 2013 I fell off that huge tower in Berezino and died after spending about 20 hours collecting weapons and gear. I was fully decked out. I started back about 6 miles away and ran as quickly as possible back to the tower, which took about 1.5 hours, but when I got there I couldn't find my body. Does it matter that I switched servers between dying and running back? I know it's possible someone found my body but it's unlikely they would have taken all items and I think it's also unlikely someone would have gone to that specific location in that amount of time. IkaikaKekai 1957 Posted December 31, 2013 Your body does not transfer servers with you, so you can't respawn then jump on another server to get your gear back. I have not been able to hide player bodies myself (I haven't tried recently), which is what someone might have done after grabbing what they could use from you. There's also the possibility that the server restarted before you got back to your body.Rules 1-12 of DayZ club, never get attached to your gear.Filthy Server hopper... Jaygoon 240 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) Altho would be nice, it kinda a game breaker to go loot your own body, or even your friends loot it and give you back your stuff. Even though i did it and got my friends to do it too loads. Maybe a 2minute timer? just so your killer can loot. Coming up on the NWAF firestation back door and hearing the flies buzzing from a corpse always put me on edge. InflatedLyric 39 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) When you do something stupid like I did yesterday and fall off a ladder. It would be nice to be able to get your items back from your body. Especially when you have to travel from one corner of the map to the other to get back to where you were. Alas, I could not respawn on the same server, it might have been a matter of patience, but when it happened I waited longer than I felt I should have to (about 5 mins, staring at a blank screen and nothing happening). If it would let me exit the server, I can then usually log back in as a respawn on that server with no problem. Just seems to be bugged and won't let me respawn properly right after death. I feel like, at this point, I have better gear after this incident. Got an upgrade with ballistic helmet and pristine equipment, downgrade in first aid supplies but I do have 1 med-kit.
