It really is an Alpha I really can’t emphasize enough – this is going to be an early access project on steam.

It’s a true-blue alpha.

Massive areas of the engine were entirely reworked, involving a large team of people over the last 12 months. Much of what these achievements will enable won’t be seen for many months – so I really plead for anyone who is on the fence to take a skeptical approach – watch streams, read reviews, watch some let’s play and form your opinion.

You could always come back to the game in three, six months time and buy it then.

Buying early will be a recipe for disappointment, it’s a chance for those who want to be part of that whole process. For them, the process is as much as part of the game as the whole experience. For many, this is the opposite of what they want. To enable a smooth launch, we really are targeting it at a core audience who want to get deeply involved in a very barebones experience that is a platform for future development.

That cuts both ways. I seen some really good innovative ideas here with elaborate and intelligent comments and you get the one who inflate their post count go,

"alpha"

and that's it...

They themselves either are as stated inflating their post count and/or don't know what alpha is themselves. It's meant to help look for bugs, crush exploits, flush out the script kiddies asap, and even bring new innovative ideas. It's really annoying seeing such great ideas and bugs found and yes I have seen a few repeat threads on certain bugs, but going, "Alpha" or "been said" isn't helping ANYTHING! If the issue has been stated and acknowledged and you can see the person put in some good effort, than be a good Samaritan and link that bigger thread. It's partly why I didn't want to make an account here and type for quite some time... overly self entitled people smearing newer people into the ground with this nonsense.

Also the ones shooting down ideas because there not in the mod or not there idea of what dayz is etc its alpha but i am sure rocket has a rough idea of where he is going but at this early stage he may be interested in some ideas from the people playing it that he may not have thought of.

Its an alpha now is the time to try new mechanics ideas before the game releases find what works, what doesnt balance it . Not all ideas are good granted but just cause it aint in the mod is not a good reason for it not being in the standalone...

Sorry for rant ...

Report posts like that. Because...

9) Unnecessary posts:

Posting "don't care" or "so what" or any posts along those lines are unnecessary, inflammatory, and do not add to the discussion.

Though do note that in plenty of cases a reminder that the game is nowhere near finished is rather necessary when you get posts such as "wtf i spent good money on this game and its trash because things dont work good", essentially when people come across as if they expected it to work fully. Typically a suggestion doesn't need to include things like "This is total bullshit" or "Who thought this was a good idea?" or "Waste of my money" because the idea is the game is not supposed to be very polished right now, and if someone comes across as not expecting that then they do need to be reminded.

But if it's simply a suggestion or bug report, like "I die immediately when I use a bicycle, no idea why" or "Has anyone ever considered implementing blablabla to prevent yada yada?" then those are exactly what we want and encourage people to do because it helps the game move forward when informative posts are spread around and constrictive thoughts are raised, and "omg its alpher stfu" is not needed to these and is honestly nothing more than spam.

Though I must admit I have used "Alpha" as a replacement for "Thanks Obama".
