Andarne (DayZ) 84 Posted December 31, 2013 Some of you may have seen this video, already. Most of you won't have. Some of you may have been to this place. Some of you won't have. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOibmwiIpp4 We took a little trip up to the new areas of Chernarus+, only to discover miles upon miles of unfinished, unpopulated terrain. I think the highlight of this video is where I go underneath a 'lake'. On a top note; I can't wait to see how this place will turn out!

Andarne (DayZ) 84 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) Never actually wanted to waste time going up there to see nothing so thanks for wasting you time instead and letting me have a look. :beans: We spent around two and a half hours up there. A lot of the area consists of placement-slots for new towns, camps, cities, etc. There's no features, such as ponds or interactive objects. Even the roads are haphazardly done. What we did find was an abundance of beautiful scenery, despite the shortcomings. I recommend it, though. Opens your eyes. I must apologize for the saturation, however. I was quite low on blood when recording.... It's called exploring. It's fun. I'll make a poll for adding walking sticks, à la mode de Bilbo Baggins. ;) Edited December 31, 2013 by Andarne

Andarne (DayZ) 84 Posted December 31, 2013 best is to start at the new train station bus terminal and then follow the main road and railroads the whole way to Guba.. . I had a lovely time in that place! Love what they've done with it, especially the surrounding terrain. The view from the hills above is astounding. Hmm, might make a 'Sights to See' thread for screenshots.

It'll be a text-description only. If they want visuals, then they can spend the time going there to find out. *Coughs, cracks fingers, types* GubaLovely place. Lots of shops. Railway. Low traffic. Smells like eggs.

Andarne (DayZ) 84 Posted December 31, 2013 you have to climb into the rocks north of Guba at the coast..it is a huge maze of rocks and even caves...absolutely amazing Ah, yes, the caves! That said, I could have sworn I saw one or two whilst exploring the dev zone. Not sure if they were unformed shadows, or misaligned textures though. I'll have to make another sweep someday. Zarniwoop 1193 Posted December 31, 2013 It seems its just us in here that appreciate the important things of a DayZ life... :( It is wonderful to sit opposite the shipwreck, watching the sun go up while reading a good book.
Private Evans 1303 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) yap people are moaning for more content but I've never met a living soul out there...same goes for the new city layouts... Zelenogorsk, Stary Sobor and Polana are amazing...or things like the stone circle on Altar or the new castle near the old fields ( very scary) :) Edited December 31, 2013 by Private Evans

I agree. Perhaps a future Humanity system will make pleasing environments increase your humanity. I, for one, am the sort who would very happily sit and watch the environment pass. Especially reading the books! What a surprise that was. Especially since I'm never short of a supply; one of my squad-mates is our designated 'records keeper'. He has a very fine collection of prose, I must say. Though it can get tedious; he substitutes all sorts of useful gear for a good novel or five.

No, that is not a good idea. :| Sorry, I dislike any sort of gamey humanity system for DayZ. I, for one, am the sort who would very happily sit and watch the environment pass.
