Frostbyte_ 44 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) So, after hearing some people say bipods didn´t have effect on accuracy even when deploeyd, i decided to record a little test. Range is 800m~ (calculated from map) incidentaly that´s also the max zeroing on the long range scope. Bipod and ammo are pristine, but the scope was worn (which is ok since it was constant for bipod/no bipod shots) End results? Deploying bipod improves accuracy. Went through the recordings frame by frame, and marked the shots on a screenshot. Must be the same for the M4 then as well. That means the spread pictured here is about 1.95 by 1.95 meters, a circle around all the shots measures about 2.20 meters in diameter. Assuming this is at 800 meters, that means the following approximate dispersions: 2.20m at 800m = 0.002751.95m at 800m = 0.00244 The dispersion of an unmodified Mosin is 0.0025. Shots fired with a deployed bipod decreases dispersion, but only really factors in for long range shots. Makes sense actually. Thanks for the info both OP and Gews. I´d need to do test with multiple attachments in different conditions to measure that, something which i don´t have access to at the moment.
