Mbre0 0 Posted December 30, 2013 Hello!I wanted to ask you if there will be some kind of time-limited trial version of this game?Im asking this because i am really interested in your game and am preety much hyped up, but at this time i can not afford it right now, and i think that it would be really awesome if there would be for example 48 hour trial version so the gamers could decide if they really want to buy the game or not (i know that this option on finantional side is not in your best interest).either way keep up the good work  :) .... i apologize for all the gramatical incorrections due to english is not my native language :|
Khad (DayZ) 293 Posted December 30, 2013 I don't think this could be really safe considering the cracking-scene ;) If you want to get the best information about the game, you just have to read and watch videos about DayZ. I think, you could figure out a really solid opinion about itself and buy it or not. I think, that the SA is allready better in very much aspects than the mod.

felthat 84 Posted December 30, 2013 48h x every steam account, yea right, good luck
shenanigansmc 19 Posted December 30, 2013 1) 48 hours is really long2) Easy to get around3) In (time) people could either do pretty much everything or get constantly killed by bandits4) Or would it be in a SP thing? That would misrepresent the game5) Could you just keep playing said (time) period?
OrLoK 16185 Posted December 30, 2013 Hello there One could try Arma2Free to get a vague feel? Rgds LoK
Mbre0 0 Posted December 30, 2013 so better start to save money for the game :D, i have already watched livestreams and it seems to me that the game is really good (dont mind the bugs , didnt mind them in stalker shoc so... :D ), but the main problem is my pc config , as i am curently using my gf¨s laptop that has no dedicated gpu ,and is pretty much in a bad shape, even thou it can ˝run˝ the arma 2 , i dont know if i can actually run the standalone. AP_Norris 1018 Posted December 31, 2013 Dean doesn't encourage the purchase of alpha anyway.
marsmars 155 Posted December 31, 2013 there are many youtube lets play videos you can watch to get a better feel for the game
TheCalyx 78 Posted December 31, 2013 If you could have 48Hr trials, the only way to make it work (slightly) is to IP Lock the trial, which is really pointless seeing as it is very easy to change your IP Address now and you couldn't have it steam locked because people would just make new accounts all the time. Anyway having the trial idea would just cause more cheaters, like WarZ guest pass shenanigans

Jaygoon 240 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) The game is brilliant mate, If you like immersive games that make you paranoid and you like to play stealthy and stay in the shadows so to speak you will love Dayz. If not you could be killed alot and on here moaning. :) Even my gf plays Dayz, she norm only likes games like WoW, minecraft or Starbound, but she plays when with me and likes to collect gear and search buildings.Like me she doesnt like pvp and we avoid it if can by staying out the way and keeping vigilant or our surroundings always. The only time i pvp is when i know i have the upper hand, else i just move away and keep alive. But the game is by far the best game i ever played.. I know some will disagree but i've loved dayz from daymod begining. :) Edited December 31, 2013 by Jaygoon
LegitOldSchool 261 Posted December 31, 2013 A trial is usually made from a completed game. Early access we have now is kind of a paid trial so...

I do not know how accurate it is (as my PC is good enough to run most games), but I heard mention of a website (http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri) on this forum that people recommended. I tried it; it shows how far below/above the minimum/recommended requirements you are and shows each part on your PC is good/too underpowered to run the game. Edit: Disregard this; apparently this is a unreliable tool. Thanks for the info TheCalyx! Edited December 31, 2013 by Shenanigans

If you look at Arma 2 OA system requirements, they are fairly low and aren't that good of a part for a pc, but when you play it, it's terribly laggy if you had the exact specifications.. Odysseus (DayZ) 43 Posted December 31, 2013 In my opinion, it'd be grossly stupid to issue "demos" for an Alpha that everyone else has paid for, sight unseen.
marsmars 155 Posted December 31, 2013 anyway if they did ever offer a trial, it wouldnt be of an alpha version
