Apparently no place is safe!

Recommended Posts

Yes, I know I probably LOOK like a psychopath in my mis-matched cammo, black motorcycle helmet, Payday Wolf mask and sunglasses.

My M4A1 with 120 rounds in various magazines, pistol and zombie ax might make me appear dangerous.

But I'm actually a very friendly guy.  I rarely shoot people unprovoked and will even help them if I can.  I even moved all the way up to that new port at the inlet north east of Olsha, thinking that I would avoid the social ills of Cherno and Electro (and now Balota).

But no, some jackass takes a pot shot at me!

I kept hearing phantom noises like zombies and groaning injured people, so I thought I imagined it. (And by "imagined", I mean "alpha sound bugs").  But as luck had it, as I was leaving the town by way of the rail yard, I look back and see a shadowy figure lurking in the tunnel under the apartments.    I couldn't be certain if it was a zombie or a player, but if it was a player, it was probably one who just shot at me.  I line up my M4 and take the shot.

High and to the left.  Shit.

And now there are two of them!

I won't bore you with the details.  But with my superior concealed position and these dumbasses trying to "flank" me by running through my kill zone, it's only a few minutes until I send their bodies off to rejoin The Force like Yoda in Return of the Jedi.

So the moral is, even  in the isolated towns way up north, there's plenty of danger.

The north is so vast and baron, I really love the way they've thinned out all the loot the further up you go.

Also when tents are added hopefully they will be 10x more harder to locate up in the expanse of northern Chernarus.

But.

Why avoid people? People make DayZ fun, singleplayer would be so shit!

If anything loot should be better the further north you go. People need a reason to not just sit on their asses at the coast murdering each other all day. But w/e. I've yet to see anyone at NEAF except for a server hopper that I promptly dispatched and then teabagged.

I was running around minding my own business around Gorka and suddenly i see a guy with just a hatchet and a pair of sun glasses, I started running towards the poor fellow to give him supplies be he didnt seem to like that idea of mine, So he decided to bury that axe in my face so i had to put him to the ground.

If I'm going afk I usually just enter the church in Elektro and kneel there before the alter, nobody has killed me yet while there

I think camps will be harder to find up north.  One thing I noticed is that it is a lot rockier now.  So there will be a lot more places to hide camps.  It looks like they are laying the groundwork for more cities up there too.

I don't want to necessarily avoid people altogether.  But lets face it, a lot of them are dangerous jerks!  Better to get away from the PvP zone on the coast.

Zombies sounds: Current bug with wildlife having the same sound files as the zombies

Groaning sounds: Thats your character, He/She is telling you your in pain and need painkillers.

Finally its a general census anyone who runs around in a payday mask is up to no good and generally shooting first is better then doing F1 while they line up thier shot on your juicy melon.

Advice: Fix your char with meds, Drop the payday mask and be more stealthy.
