forget being a hero anymore.. i spent my time helping this sqeaky freshspawns, then i get popped from nowhere by some amerifag, 

 

then i hear them say "did he hurt you?"  &   "loot his body"    and lost all my shit..

 

that was 3 days and 3 nights of nwaf gear gone. because you try to help people

Well, here is a bit of a hero story that happened last night while I was playing.

So first off, I was killed numerous numerous times fresh spawning into the coasts. My first plan of action was to get geared up and gain my revenge on random unsuspecting players as I once was. After hours of my journey throughout the landscapes, towns, cities, villages, farms and more.. I found my gem. It had jungle boots, pistols, m4's, magazines for both, ammo galore, a trusty rusty can opener, food, medical supplies, and all the best clothes I could ask for!! Me being me I stay here a few days taking full advantage of the vantage points I had from the main road, and the one entrance into my building. The water pump in the back wasn't bad either.

After day three of hoarding I get bored... and decide it is time. Time to exact,my revenge on other unsuspecting players as I had experienced. So I journey to the Southern Coastline. Going into a town just East of Balota, Komarovo I do believe. I see him running... my prey... my revenge. He is sprinting at full speed, I watch him run inside a building closing the doors behind, I slowly creep through grass. Then I stop, two men are chasing him, just as geared up as me. The only difference, they don't know I am watching. I move to a better fighting position, even though I had the advantage of elevation, and deploy my bipod. I shoot a few rounds and take the first guy out, the second immediately creeps behind the house firing randomly in the air. I wait for him to peak out and get the best of him too.

I move from the grass to the house and over mic call to the guy inside telling him, I am friendly.... I still had foul intentions until we started talking.. and all he had was a wood splitting axe and no water or food. I give him medical supplies, I give him one of my canteens, then ask the most daring question of all, " If I give you a handgun, will you shoot me in the back? "

He replies, " I would not shoot you in the front or back." Without hesitation I give him the handgun, two magazines, and an abundance of .45 ACP rounds, I would say about 50 or so, to get him off to a good start. Then I ask if he had been to the airfield, he replies with a no.

We set off to the airfield escorting him through each barracks room and hangar hearing gunfire in the distnace as I cover the door while he loots to his hearts desire, we exchanged contact information and parted ways after his pack was full, and canteen overflowing with water.

I went full hero, you never go full hero.

If you guys are here hunting for other players why not play a thousand other games that are out there created ESPECIALLY for killing other players with deathmatches and such. I thought this was more of a survivor game, not Counterstrike/UT/Quake/HL2/COD/MW/BF/TF

 

Because they are douchebags, obviously. It isn't fun to play any of the games you mentioned because the person you killed is going to respawn in 10 seconds with a full loadout. There are zero consequences. If you were an asshole, would you rather kill someone in TF2 where he will just respawn, or kill him in Skyrim and make him lose his 500 hours played character?

The point of heroes is to counter bandits, not zombies. Heroes are needed more than ever because there is nothing BUT bandits and they are hurting the community by making noobs quit the game. Most heroes are still playing the mod, which should be frowned upon honestly because if they love the game enough to be a hero in the mod, they should at least try to support the actual title and get on here and help noobs out so it doesn't become a ghost town. It's alpher enough as it is, if new players aren't turned off enough by that, they sure as hell will be when they die 6 times per hour like I've been reading.

 

It's hard to imagine with the sales that we have seen thus far that the game will fail but it's still in a very fragile state.

Exactly, not only that but they're TREATING this game as a deathmatch.  After I started playing, I also watched several streams online of others playing. They really don't give a rat's ass about the other aspects of the game at all. The whole time they spend in the game is: Spawn, run to military base/air strip/barracks, get the M4 and go on a rampage killing as many as they can, friendly or not. They loot them, kill more and eventually they get killed too. Respawn and start the process all over. For hours. What's the point of that!? You don't get points, increase in rank, achievements or nothing! So why!? Why would anyone waste their time doing that unless that someone really is just an ahole trying to reduce the enjoyment of the game for others?

Indeed, where are the heros. 

All I find are cowards. I was killed, shot in the back whilst looking for food. No warning shot, no talking... just shot in the back by 2 cowards.

I hardly had anything to give them. Waist of a bullet.

They could have said, "freeze, put your arms in the air, press F2" but no, just got shot in the back.

 

So much easier to KoS and hard to be a hero. 

 

You want a challenge? Be a hero and not a coward.

ther will be a lot more heroes in the next update (if they fix so you get blood from blood bag). and becuse balota is so (often) easly looted so some player get a gun easy and ammo easy too but if they maybe removed some of the military loot it will for sure be a bit more heroes.

 

Use saline bags instead. Same shit less headaches, no disease, no infections, no getting sick.

Why the fuck would I want to warn you if I'm going to kill you? How do I know you're not alone? Why would I make others aware of my presence? If you don't look behind you once in a while then that's you mistake. Don't label people who want to be stealthy, cowards,  mkay? I think the coward Label should be put on people who combat log.

I plan on roaming the shores of the Chernarus providing help to new spawns, as I said before I decided not to take the easy route and take the more difficult route and be the helping hand, and escort people through the wasteland. :lol:

I'm pretty newb, but I always try to be a hero, if I come across someone with no gear etc. I try and give them some food and a weapon of some sort and even directions to the nearest military camp etc.. so far (about 9 lives) I have been killed every time while being a hero (maybe because im not usually fully kitted.

 

That said, even though I die a lot, I find the game very rewarding, helping other to survive there first few hours is what makes this game fun for me.

Being a "hero" in DayZ is not that rewarded. I never KoS, if I see someone well armed I dont even try to talk to him, just hide, because we all know that, well armed=abusing, either to kill you on sight, rob, or whatever.

A little cool story bro. Just today, I found a player, I had an axe and he had nothing, he said Hi, I said Hi, we go to another town together, suddenly some zombies attack him, then I protect him and killed the zombies. I was wounded and started to bandage myself when for no reason he start to hit me from behind and made me unconscious to rob my stuff, I had nothing anyway, but... LOL what was that for? so f* retarded. Welcome to DayZ

There would be more heroes, but people see the base game( for the mod) and see its a war game, so to them the mod must be as well

There are three things you need to come to terms with when playing this game:

 

1) You WILL die.

2) It is EXTREMELY unlikely that anything that has occurred in the videos you've seen will happen to you.

3) That asshat that coined 'dayz heroes' was entirely full of shit, and his tips were bad. You could hear the butthurt in his tangents, and no one is going to be your hero unless you find a group who specifically does stuff like that.  RRF guys do it, and I've caught a couple of them in the act and gunned them down. I'm sure any other self respecting bandit would do the same.

On a less dramatic note, every bandit that shoots at fresh spawns and I see them? My mosin is gonna explode their head like a watermelon :)
