When is rocket going to fix this? I am dying of starvation and I cannot find a single piece of food/drink to heal myself so I'm probably going to die. Ammo is also very hard to find yet I find M4's everywhere!

Then do what everyone else does. Go further inland, find a quieter server, or server hop to find your loot (preferably not the latter)

If anything loot will be toned down, but will respawn (I think). So get used to it. Go to small towns. Best places for food and drink.

Yeah go farther in land. I am so stocked up at the moment that I can't even loot food and I see it everywhere. Go for the medium sized towns in land. Noropebka is one of my favorite spots.

Spawns are okay.  Obviously there are buildings where the spawns haven't been set yet, as there are specific building types you'll find absolutely nothing every single time.

 

However last night, I went through a northern town at night and found 6 cans of food, 4 cans of soda, and a canteen.  Plus the location had a water spigot.  So I was pretty happy.  Also found 1 fresh kiwi (rarest in game item lol).

 

The coasts are littered.  New spawns and bandits aplenty.  So you should try to find a suitable weapon and just enough food to survive the journey to a northern town, and get the hell out of there.

The thing is I'm dying of starvation so the time I would get there means I would be dead :/

Awesome example vid.  You even leave several pieces of food and cans of soda behind.  People just need to learn that the southern coastal area sucks big time.
