Lady Corrupt 1 Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) It's just an idea that occurred to me the other day. I don't know if it'll really work with the game but I thought I might as well share and see what other people think. Well, I thought that it'd be kind of interesting if the game had different leveling trees. You'd have a choice to specialize your character in a few of them but not all. For example: a tree that will make you better at melee combat or another that levels up your proficiency with guns or one for hunting or cooking. I'm just not sure how you'd actually level up. Maybe you'll get skill points by a certain number of days you're alive? Or maybe instead of skill trees you can choose a certain specialty out of several when making your character. It could even be like choosing a backstory. You choose you were a soldier then you have a bonus in guns or you choose you were a survivalist and you get a bonus in endurance. Something along those lines. I just thought that might make people want to team up with others more because their skills will actually be useful to one another. What do you guys think?Edit: Sorry about the double post. I'm posting this from my Ipad and I guess it messed up somehow and posted it twice. applejaxc 2500 Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) I think you should get out be careful talking about this kind of witchcraft RPGness; some people might just burn your house down and pee on your clothes not respond very nicely. Lady Corrupt 1 Posted December 27, 2013 Haha. Well no harm in just expressing an idea.
Inception. 9443 Posted December 27, 2013 No thank you. I do not feel that it is appropriate for the game.
plexico 386 Posted December 27, 2013 Believe it or not this same thing has been suggested countless times, and it has been agreed upon by the regulars of this forum that it does not fit in DayZ.
applejaxc 2500 Posted December 27, 2013 Haha. Well no harm in just expressing an idea. No harm, I suppose. I'll be nice, since you're new: DayZ "Regulars" want: No skill systemsNo teleporting/"Join your friends!" button/etc that makes it easier to conglomerateNo nonrealism besides zombies and obvious abstractionsNo XPOnly 1 character per person per hiveNo bank/storage system that is "Safe"; only able to store gear in tents/hidey holes that must be well hidden to avoid being robbed, as opposed to, say, WarZ's bank Those are common topics made by newbies.

Day Unit 18 Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) Your brain must be special. Hmm, where did you came up with this idea? It's so original, so out of nowhere. Wow. Skill tree and leveling? So great. Edited December 27, 2013 by Day Unit

So great. No need to be a dick about it. I never said I was original or special for it. I just said I thought it'd be a cool idea. Grow up.
