EDIT: YOU CAN VOTE MORE THAN ONCE!!!

The topic comes up all the time when playing SA. What direction do you think the standalone should go in?

Personally id love to see a lot more low-end loot. Espescially shotguns and .22s, espescially low capacity handguns

Basically anything that will bring players closer together before they start shooting. The closer you get, the more likely you are to be seen. And suddenly, shooting on sight  might not be as appealing any more. Stealth and negotiation, or pure evasion, become viable options when point and click from 500 metres is ruled out.

I also like the idea of weapons which dont use magazines. Not only are they easier to get up and running in a world where mags are collected, but they add tension. If you see someone with a mosin you cant know by looking at the mag if he's capable of shooting at you, like you can with the m4.

I think more low end gear will also provide more choices to the player. Right now, seeing a weapon on the ground you will almost always pick it up. Seeing ammo, the same, almost always pick it up. Add more types, and suddenly we need to make a decision about which we want to use and which we leave behind. Other players might make this choice differently. Other players might be carrying ammo you need which they dont, the framework for trading is there. Not like now where every second person has an m4, so killing them will get you more m4 ammo reliably. Instead you cant know if they have what you want quite so easilly without talking to them.

Apart from that, in real life these low-end weapons are just more common in general. it helps to make the experience more relatable.

Is that revolver already in-game? And if so, can you 'pre-cock' the lever?

Black

i am actually the author of the 357 model and no, i doubt that you will be able to fire it in single-action.

VSS! would be great

i was reluctant to add that to the list because its very unlikely we would ever see it ingame. the VSS ammo is completely unique to the VSS, plus its unique magazines. It could not share with any other weapon and as you may remember from the mod, they dont like adding too many ammo types to the loot tables.

besides that, for the reasons above it is an un-ideal survival gun.

Ruger Mark II didn't make it to the handgun list??

It's one of the key handgun in the world, especially because it's a .22. It's silent, good for hunting small games, it has a good, unique, sturdy form which everyone love.

It's not only iconic in the gun world, it's super practical.

So you're the famous Harry?

I love the detail of your models :beans:

I'd like to see a large range of weapons, from the most seemingly usless singleshot small caliber civilian weapons, to guns like the AKM.

the wider the range and the lower the spawn rates, then the larger variety of weapons and the longer the climb to full military endgame loot.

:P ;) Just my viewpoint though, any model is hugely appreciated. As in real life there is a chance that any gun can be found anywhere.

I also just like to see your work anyways

I don't see a problem with any of these weapons, apart from the lever actions which are not popular nor commonly found in Europe, and of course the one which says "lol" beside it.

Great models btw

I was thinking maybe a sako finnwolf or similar would be appropriate

Looks a lot more sensible than the guns that won the west.

So we can get two bits of pipe, put a cap and pin at one end ram that down the other pipe at a 12g shell?

That would be fantastic, actually... being able to craft zipguns (assuming proper guns are really rare, and the bits required to make a zipgun are less rare)

It would not be out of place... I would like to make a list of the most commonly found firearms in various Eastern European countries since it would be useful, I have never got around to it though.

I think the Tokarev and CZ52 should be high priority - they're common guns for the region, and they fire the same 7.62x25 cartridge. Plus they're cool as hell. In my opinion the FNX45 doesn't even make sense being in the game, and I'm pretty sure the mag capacity is wrong (never heard of a .45 ACP handgun holding 15 rounds; maybe 12-13 at most).

Also, IMO the IZH18 is a must-have; very common Russian single-shot rifle. Perfect common civilian gun.

It is correct

In fact, in ArmA 3 they have the same pistol and got the capacity totally wrong. They reduced it to 11 rounds for whatever reason. They also somehow messed up the 1911's capacity, and put it at 9 rounds, even though it's physically impossible to fit 9 rounds in a flush single-stack magazine. And they deliberately gave them both nonsensical fictional names.

So DayZ got that, at least, much better than ArmA 3

Well I'll be damned. I wonder how they manage to stuff 15 rounds into that size pistol. A USP .45 is around the same size and it only holds 12, right?

According to the specs, compared to the USP the FN is 3/4 inch taller and also the 15-round magazine isn't flush.

Although the Soviet Union did use the CZ52. So maybe the CDF used them. Idk

It's not set in the Czech Republic. Chernarus is a nation, with its own armed forces
