Anticheat needs to be integrated FAST....

Cheats have been floating around for this game for a few weeks now. You don't even need to search for them to have them appear - just attempting to google information on weapons and spawn locations brings up download links and instructions for hacking.

 

It's only a matter of time until every other player you meet appears to be a hacker, because that person encountered a hacker not long before that. No one is going to bother playing the game, and no bugs will be sought out if all the only players left are script kiddies trying to troll and 'dominate'.

 

I vote that anti-cheat priority should be increased. At the very minimum, provide protection against Cheat Engine, basic memory-value hacking, basic scripting, etc. - it's not hard - it's literally the exact stuff you've encountered before. The code to detect all of this already exists, just take the time to locate it and reintegrate it. A small measure like this would provide immense pay-offs in the next months of player testing. Why repeat the same reputation that the DayZ mod had initially, as well as WarZ? This game isn't leaving alpha any time soon, might as well do some minimum level security to make it a little more enjoyable for everyone.

I hear your concern and from what i have observed from rocket... The hacking will be prioritized over combat logging/server hopping etc.

We are working on additional anti-hack to supplement the implementation of VAC. We have been working closely with Valve for VAC as well as our other anti-hack partner. Details of this will be released shortly. The most important thing to remember is that anti-hack is really the secondary defense - the primary defense should be good architecture. We have already identified (and fixed) several key vulnerabilities in the three days since launch. There are more we know about and I am sure more we don't. The purpose of this early phase of alpha is to identify and fix those. As our architecture now relies on the server controlling and adjudicating everything, we can close off locally controlled functions and back doors - which is what we have been doing.

I voted yes, because they need to block the easy stuff so that the serious hacks start forming before end of alpha and they can be monitored and stopped. Love it that people are cheating in alpha (I don't like cheats), very good testing for anti cheat systems, before things get important.

I wonder if they will be banned so fast? if it was me, i would not band then to fast, same way governments and pay people to try and hack them. free hack testing. sure it interrupts game play and other testing, but all things need testing. they will probably only ban the dumb hackers

Bis has not had an effective anti-script kiddy system for 12 years. I would be surprised if they started now. All this talk about anti-cheat systems and solutions has happened before and here we are...

I am in no rush to be honest, let them collect their data it is alpher soon they will know all of the hacker tricks and understand the games vulnerabilities.

Tbh I have gotten use to the annoyance of hackers, just like I am now use to bandits and the KoS mentality of the game, play smart and do not get attached to anything in game.

I've recently been observing the most popular hacking/cheating sites and they do have some bugs/glitches/dupes/scripts that give the user an advantage. Just can't wait for the first ban wave to initiate :P

Oh and will there be any action taken against people who use glitches/dupes to gain advantage?

I am just simply stating that there are various sites that offer all kinds of cheats for a user I didn't say that I use them. The devs are probably very aware of those sites and will patch them in the next update.

This won't be patched in the next update - Rocket doesn't plan to address this type of stuff for months. That's why I think attention should be drawn to it so perhaps it will be addressed within the next 3 updates instead of the next 12.
