Grow some balls and come over this server hopping bulls*** I dont know, but for me there is plenty of loot if I spawn or wander further inland. Sometimes the server is just running for some time and the coastal towns are all dry. In the beginning I would not try to focus on hotspots, because those are probably looted by some server-hopping genius like the one above. blfonsworth 32 Posted December 24, 2013 well how am i supposed to make it that far north without anything? I'm bound to die from something, or just get bored from wandering north aimlessly I think you're not looking close enough.. The first few times I spawned (brand new to dayz) I died fast b/c I had no clue what to look for or where to look for it. The last couple times i've had to start over due to death or server deleting my character randomly after a disconnect, I have been able to quickly find enough food and water to move inland. I always try and find a low population server if I'm starting out a new character so I'll have a smaller chance of running intoa bandit and a higher chance there will be loot to pick up since there aren't others around to get it before me. I started a new guy last night near Cap Golova and within about an hour I found food, soda, fireman axe, helmet, hoodie, new pants, a rifle scope, a hard protector case that fits 6 or 8 items, a blood test kit and a defrbrilator.. I have since dropped the defib. I ripped up a shirt I found and put it in the case alon with the blood kit and some food and I've already headed inland, explored Pusta and am currently logged off at Topolka Dam. I did this on a 13/30 server
CaptainJupe 9 Posted December 24, 2013 Yeah there is TONS o loot everywhere u look. Either u arent looking good enough and dont understand where things spawn, or everything has been taken by other people. Just find a low populated server. Usually people use the lower servers to server hop but only for military spawns it seems. So u should be able to find everything else no problem on a low populated server. I killed a guy last night who was spawning IN the barrack i was already in looting. Full gear to the max. He was probably so damn pissed.... But hey i geared up quick and these noob server hoppers need to at least log out in a bush or some shit...

deebz1234 243 Posted December 24, 2013 let me help the dev team lol step 1, turn on loot timers for fucks sake ( everyone is sick of the current setup and how its promoting server hopping)step 2, server hopping timer of 10 minutes the end, game fixed breaking point has an 8 minute timer for hopping, its harsh and cold but I am very careful now which servers I join and how long I play. So is everyone and there is NO more hopping for loot. keep it simple stupids
Zeppa 562 Posted December 24, 2013 Loot? Its everywhere, to the point you cant die of hunger or anything else than a bullet..
Psyl3nt 125 Posted December 24, 2013 There is loot near all the spawns, you do have to run the gauntlet though, cherno, elektro, balota, etc .. there is a reason they are death traps, but once you get in and out you can move away from them. I don't consider a character 'alive' until he's looted one of the main towns and gotten away with the gear.
Diggydug (DayZ) 331 Posted December 24, 2013 Off the coast i find plenty of food. It's rarer that I stumble into a town where I don't find a morsel to eat. Water is never an issue with the wells in just about every town. Other than that I just keep moving and find a town practically untouched sooner or later. Funkmaster Rick 373 Posted December 24, 2013 Heh. Loot timers would be nice, though perhaps not the optimal solution. As it stands, if I join a low-pop server, it takes maybe five minutes before it's close to full. It almost seems like massive waves of server-hoppers just travel from server to server, leaving utter desolation in their wake. Most of the low-pop servers I've seen ARE low-pop because a swam of metaphorical locusts had moved through, looted everything, and left for greener pastures.
