austen.fart@gmail.com 54 Posted December 23, 2013 All you have to do is put a 10 second timer on the exit button...That would fix the current and future combat loggers.. I'am sure as brilliant as all of you are you can do this in at least an hour and roll out the patch.. Please fix it soon :(

dmitriikeler 13 Posted December 23, 2013 It is easy to block alt-f4 also
LouisK 85 Posted December 23, 2013 Tomorrow is christmas. Don't expect that much, there have been three patches in three days already. Gameplay is not a priority in terms of alpha.
Reverence 12 Posted December 23, 2013 Yeah just make it so bodies remain in game 10 seconds after a abrupt disconnection
kottton 5 Posted December 23, 2013 war z had a decent system even though the game was trash. if i remember correctly you had a 30 min timer for each server after you logged. If you logged in before the 30 mins was up then it placed you like 2000 meters away. It wouldnt prevent the alt + f4 thing, but it would prevent the people from switching servers to better their position and coming back to shoot you in the face. austen.fart@gmail.com 54 Posted December 23, 2013 I really meant for the current re-spawn bug. Yea i agree yo can never fix alt-f4. those are the true combat kiddies. But the majority press the Exit button to server hope and such...

I'am sure as brilliant as all of you are you can do this in at least an hour and roll out the patch.. Please fix it soon :( I too have been frustrated by combat logging today... But I just decided I'd stop playing the Alpha until its fixed along with server hopping/ghosting etc (seeing as it is the only game ruiner at the moment for me). It's Christmas let the guys have a break, you don't have to play the game as it is, but if you do, you'll have to deal with combat logging.
Mos1ey 6301 Posted December 23, 2013 There is a logout timer but it's currently disabled. I'm not sure why but there must be some kind of issue with it. Hopefully it will be rectified soon.
__redruM 7 Posted December 23, 2013 (edited) It wouldn't fix it. There will be people who quit via pressing alt+f4. Not if the timeout is on the server... 10 (I like 30) seconds after lost connection or client request to disconnect. The server save the player state to the hive, leaving the motionless body in place until then. I don't really know the design. It possible that the client is what saves it's data to the hive and not the server. But that sort of design choice would be a hackers wet dream. Though that's almost certainly not the case, as I picked up a bag of rice on a server reset, but didn't have the rices when the server came back online. synystr 118 Posted December 23, 2013 Why not let the server KILL the combat logger? No warning. I think I speak for most of us when I say I never have the tendency to combat log as soon as I get shot at. Having this harsh of a punishment will curb that habit right away. gibonez 3633 Posted December 23, 2013 Yea only solution would be to have the players character die when he disconnects in combat.
austen.fart@gmail.com 54 Posted December 23, 2013 The only reason i said 10 seconds is because you have those kiddies pissing there pants every time they hear the rod "timer"I'd be good if it was 60 seconds! that means that the people cant leave when you're interrogating them.. There arent that many Alt-f4'ers. The exit button is just so easily accessible now that they use it.
wolf7115 8 Posted December 23, 2013 Just do what Darkfall does. Make it so your character remains in-game for 40 seconds after you disconnect from the server. This even prevents alt-f4 combat logging. He then just has to make it so that you cannot log into any other server until your character has been removed from the previous server.
