THIS is why I Shoot on Sight >.>

Recommended Posts

Keep in mind I said "Hey I'm friendly" before I hit record, then I ran inside the barracks.

I hopped to 5 different servers trying to find this prick, but alas he escaped burning vengeance at the hands of my assault rifle :(

How would he know? I know I have a distinctive, manly voice that likely inspired confidence and heroics in him, but that's still a little far fetched. :)

why does that make you want to shoot on sight? lol

So that there's a 100% combat logger kill rate

Um.. it's a public hive.  Why are you idiots playing it like they're private servers that you have to start over every time you switch to a new one?  This is how Rocket and the dev team wanted the game to be played.  Enjoy it.

Oh and if anyone actually thinks that the dev team will ever be able to get around combat logging, you're delusional.  They can't.  Because it'd be illegal.  No Windows program can disable ctrl+alt+delete, or prevent users from instantly closing it.  People will be able to end the process, hit esc and then alt+f4, it's never going to change.  If you really think it'd be that hard, all you'd have to do is pre-load an end process for DayZ, whenever you want to get the hell out, alt+tab and hit spacebar.

This will never be avoided and can never be fixed.  So get used to it, until these people get with it, and add a simple saving database per server, and turn them all back into private hives.

What a prick. Don't KoS though, that only makes it worse...

Yes what a prick, he used the fucking way the game is designed to survive.  How dare he!

You're an idiot. They 'll just have a bot stay there for you, similar to when you have a time out. Many games do that.

lol, perhaps they could make it so your character stays there for 30 seconds after you log out? and he does a special animation that tells you he's logged out? i'm pretty sure that solves it, because you know they've logged and can just kill them.

If he didn't do it before you tried to kill him he would have done it after you killed him so you couldn't loot his body. Maybe don't point your gun at people unless you're going to shoot, looks threatening.

So, how long have you been playing DayZ? 2 days, 1?

Yeah, but it's normal to be threatened... Even if he felt threatened, he shouldn't log. I'm all for the 30 timer thing. have the character flash in a red light and you know what to do :)

Oh I know the guy who logged was for sure in the wrong and hope he got blasted in the face on the next server he joined for doing it.

Yeah a log out timer would be nice, the instant thing sucks. Anybody against a log out timer is most likely a combat logger because the rest of us are usually in a safe area or at least a semi-safe area before we even start the log out process. I mean, including a way to abort the log out timer is needed also in case you see a threat approaching you that you didn't expect at first because we can't for see everything. It is an idea worthy of some serious thought though, just sayin...

Self defense doesn't including logging out.

Oh and guess what? ANOTHER bastard in Balota combat logged when I rejoined after that upload. I said I was friendly, we both had M4s, he even had the drop on me... he went prone, so I circled around him and said I was friendly-again-and said we could be friends.

I should have shot him in his combat-logging ass.

My point exactly.

Well, here is the deal for me : I never log. And there are others who never log too. And now you're telling me you'll eventually kill me because "I might have logged out?" I plead for innocent untill proven guilty :)

if you're going to let this change the way you play the game then i will think even less of you

Wow. I've never seen one that close in the wild.

How was it?

Did he look scared under his little mask?

So...uh...you're friendly but you're mad because you wanted to kill him and he got away? :P

If you didn't intend to kill him, then it wasn't really "combat" logging then was it?

You'd shoot an unarmed player without a weapon or a backpack? For what? His mask?

I hate combat loggers as much as the next guy but how many times have we heard that crap  - '' yo I am friendly'' !! ( just waiting for you to turn your back on me really, so that I can burry my axe as far as it'll go  )

What if he got KoS'ed 3th- or 5th time that day and finally at least has a chance to loot for while? Yes still not the way to deal with things but I don't blame them either, take it as you will.
