Do canned food rot if you leave it opened for too long?

I wonder if anyone has tried to open a canned food and leave it uneaten for a while. Will it rot?

Also, will fresh fruits rot if you keep them on you for too long?

I don't think at the moment it does. I'm not sure if item degradation is implemented yet.

Seeing as cans of food can get damaged, I'd imagine the plan would be for them to carry a chance for infection or food poisoning at some point. As it is, I've already limited myself to only picking up food in pristine condition, to get myself in the habit.

They rot.

I had to throw 2-3 cans because of it. If you see "red" condition dont eat.

Fruit doesn't rot unless it takes days. I've had a Pristine Orange and Pristine Banana on my guy for the last two days and they are the same. At the very least you have some time on fruit. For the others its best to just eat the whole thing when you open it.
