So, I went through http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Loot and selected every bit of loot I have not yet found in game - and know almost no one to have found in game...

 

• Chainsaw
• Combat Knife
• Izh43 Shotgun
• SKS
• Watch
• Cooking clock
• Frying Pan
• WalkieTalkie
• Small Protector Case - This is the only item I've seen in game - but have never found one. My friend had it on him.
• MRE
• Pistachios
• Trail Mix
• Kiwi (Fresh)

 

According to the wiki, all of these items are actually implemented in the game right now.

 

If anyone can prove otherwise with any of these, I'm happy to hear so... So I can shorten my list of stuff I have never had in the game. Literally everything else on the list (that isn't tbr), I've seen and collected. None of the other items have had any major difficulties finding them.

 

Notable mentions however are maps - which are rare until you look in cars and garages, at which point they become very common.

 

Long Range Scopes - which are rare until you look on the floor of grassy military tents very carefully and find them all the time.

 

The Mosin its self - which is far more rare than the pistol and the M4. If the Shot Gun does not exist, then it's by far the rarest gun - and even if the shotgun does exist, I could just be really unlucky in looking for it.

I think the burden of proof is on the wiki, it's a game wiki so no citations are needed, so anyone could have copy pasted that stuff accidentally or intentionally.

 

On topic, I reckon the rarest item would be the LRS. I found one on my first spawn, but past that they have been rarer than the mosins themselves.

Well, I know that the small protector case and walkie talkies definitely exist - so I'd say their probably the rarest items :P

 

I've not had much of a problem finding LRS - they've appeared more than Acogs even, when I'm looking for Agocs. It's more a case of actually spotting them, like the can opener.

I confirm press vest spawned at shipwreck, can someone else confirm train station elektro also for it? maybe other places? thanks.

Saw press vest in some train stations, yep.

Rarest item: blood test kit, right behind the can opener.

I've found a fair few... When I've not been looking for them.

 

It's almost like the GTA Car anomaly...

 

It takes you forever to find one - but once you have one, you seem to be fucking rolling in them, at least for me. I think I'm just incredibly unlucky, tbh.

I hardly see any cooking pots. I've only ever found one Press Vest.

I've found walkie talkie twice from fire station. Did not have any functionality yet,couldn't hold in hand either. 

 

Protector cases are quite common especially at corner cafes at bigger towns. I've sometimes found 3 at single loot run to cherno.

I have yet to find a chainsaw. If you go to a military area and search every bit of it (under the beds in barracks, every corner of a hanger, etc), you'll find weapons and ammo and what not.

I also haven't found a bullet proof vest. Many of the items i've seen on this list i have either forgotten about or had no idea about them in the first place. You just have to keep searching. Thats one of the fun parts about DayZ.

Lulz, everything everyone has listed I would not call rare at all. Your all looking to far off the beach. Elektro to Bolota has everything but the press/stab vest which can be found at Riffy or train stations. So truly you can find it all on the beach.

 

If it's rare to you then someone already looted it ie. server hopper or the server has been on for more than an hour.

 

In other words give me 45mins and I will be fully tricked out with extra..

 

 

 

 

They need to remove all military gear from the coast along with damn near every loot-able item. Just leave trash and junk. Then maybe it won't take the blink of a night to become fully kitted.

MAP...........................seen a few but semi rare ....petrol stations shops

Berries ......................never seen any in game

Radio ....................... seen a few but semi rare.....  fire stations

pilot helmet ..............never seen any in game

 

I have see every thing else frequently
