How high of a priority is fixing lights through walls?

Just curious?

 

I am afraid to turn on my light at all at night, even when keeping it down and what not.  I know it should be risky to use a light at night, but the light shines through entire buildings and is visible for several km it seems.

u really dont even need a flashlight.

gamma+brightness+tab to find loot. go around while having inventory open to find hidden items

i usually set brightness to max, but keep gamma on default. that seems to be enough to see thigns

lol umm....flashlights shouldn't spray through walls, and having your inventory open while running in the dark is going to cause you to miss some things you would otherwise find.

 

Just so you know the best way to see at night is:

 

shadows at max

HDR at max

Clouds at max

Gamma & brightness turned high

The above methods are great for seeing in the dark if you don't want to play the game properly. I don't get why people willingly miss out on the awesome atmosphere playing the game in the dark with a flashlight.

I do it even though it gets me shot from time to time

 

OT: I hope they fix that too, there is a post about it in the Alpha feedback/bug reporting page, with 340 votes, so hopefully they will look into it. Although I would think it would be lower on their list of priorities

Umm...you still have to use a flashlight to properly play the game even with gamma and brightness on high. the other settings just make the quality of the darkness better.

I'm in agreement here. Changing gamma to see when you aren't supposed to be able to see is an exploitation in my book. I really hope there is a fix soon as well, but you must realize it's an alpha and there are currently other things that must be fixed. Such as zombies walking through walls, character resets, the annoying global chat voice... etc.

btw if u turn shadows off, everything becomes way brighter

also keep clouds on high
