Yeah... If this had Call of Duty controls then maybe... But this has Arma controls. IE: Everything is slow, everything is sluggish, laying down means you can't do anything for a few seconds, standing up means you can't do anything... And don't even give me that "realism" bullshiz... I can flop down on the ground without putting my gun away. I can stand up without putting my gun away... I can climb a ladder without putting my damn gun away. If this were realistic I could take my gun and load a round in the chamber without a magazine... I could jump five feet and not break my legs... I could go more than five minutes without needing to eat and drink... All of the controls and mechanisms on this Bohemian Interactive engine are ridiculously clumsy... So "being stealthy" is not always and option and when it is, it is an awful, broken, clumsy mess. Especially since even being in crouch and holding shift, you still sound like you are stomping wood floor in tap shoes.

Until characters aren't randomly wiped, whats the point of going north? My friend and I started earlier on new guys (20000th new character in 2 days), we gathered some starter stuff in Cherno and headed north... A few hours after starting in Cherno and slowly working our way up, we reached the NW Airfield... We got stocked up on loot. We decided to take a break and then head back south to meet up with our third friend who was as of then, not yet on... We both logged out, got some food, etc... Came back about 15 minutes later... Both of us started on the beach with new characters, everything we had just done for three or four hours was completely undone by simply logging out for 15 minutes... We didn't even change servers. Until that no longer happens, what is the point of the long journey north? Your character is going to be gone before you can utilize anything you find up there anyways. So why not stock up on military gear in Balota and have fun while you can?

Just curious? I am afraid to turn on my light at all at night, even when keeping it down and what not. I know it should be risky to use a light at night, but the light shines through entire buildings and is visible for several km it seems. Thanks if anyone has any idea.

I just bought the standalone since a couple of friends bought it as well... I am trying to play, but I am just continually getting killed by other players when I have absolutely nothing... In my one hour of playing so far, I have been killed FIVE times without ever having even made it past the few buildings near where I start most of the time... 1) Some guy ran up and cut me and then harvested blood from me, shooting me dead just after. 2) Literally within seconds of spawning I was gunned down. 3) Next a group of four players chased me down and shot me. 4) Next a guy chased me down and beat me to death with a baseball bat. 5) Finally, after figuring out which towns we were in and sprinting down the coast at each other for A HALF HOUR, just after meeting up with my friend, we were gunned down by a group of other people. ALL of these deaths have occurred while I have had NO ITEMS and thus no reason to be killed. I can't even learn how to do anything or go anywhere since I continually just get killed. So I ask, are there any newb friendly servers out there for people who don't have a clue or have items?
