PSA: From next DayZ update, if you disconnect while handcuffed, you will forfeit your character (they will die). #DayZ

Hmm.  So what happens if you are playing on a server, you are handcuffed, and the server crashes?  Do you still die?

Or if you get dropped from a server that filled up while you were playing? Happened to me twice yesterday. I was able to rejoin even though it was 40/40 both times.

As it was foretold in the records of note, so shall it be. Apparently I worship Rocket and DayZ because I  think the Alpha is going okay, so I might as well get out the High Priest voice and language right?

Seems fair enough. We can never have too many anti-combat logging features.

 

enforcing the character to stay in the world and prohibiting the player to join another server would be a better solution in my opinion.

 

crashes and disconnects happen - your fate should be at mercy to your enemy, not death by default.

The issue though, is that if they force you to stay then there is always Alt-F4. So if it crashes... too bad I'm sorry those other people who cheat had to ruin it for everyone.

the player can alt+f4, but if the character persists in the world  and can be looted and shot i see no problem.

 

the problem is rather that the database access is too unreliable.
