Frost20 20 Posted December 19, 2013 First and foremost, i like the game, despite exceedingly noticeable lack of zombies in most towns, its still a fun game... But I have been unable to see it in color for 5 hours. I have eaten every type of food i can think of, taken multivitamins, and drank tons of water, my character does not moan anymore, yet, i cannot see anything but a dull, grey environment. Has anyone actually recovered from this problem?
Target Practice (DayZ) 1335 Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) You either need a blood bag or a saline bag to be administered to you by a friendly party. That'll sort it. :) I believe that health (which is why you're seeing in monochrome) regenerates slowly when you're fully fed and watered, so keep on eating until you're stuffed and drink regularly, and it may regenerate too (although some people are reporting this may not be working - it's not entirely clear). So the only way to get my blood back is to take someone hostage and take blood? Lol
Adelheid 9 Posted December 19, 2013 So the only way to get my blood back is to take someone hostage and take blood? Lol Handcuffs! *hint* I had the same issues and I'm convinced by a lot of timesink (find food, all sorts, drink, so much water, wow) today that regeneration as such is not yet implemented. klesh 2423 Posted December 19, 2013 So the only way to get my blood back is to take someone hostage and take blood? Lol Uh, you could always find a wiling participant who has an appropriate blood type that can be administered to you. Also, saline does not require a specific blood type to work. Target Practice (DayZ) 1335 Posted December 19, 2013 So the only way to get my blood back is to take someone hostage and take blood? Lol Potentially, yes. I think you can find saline bags in some hospitals, which don't require a 'donor'. :p But either way, you'll need someone else to administer them to you, so your best bet is finding a friendly player willing to do that for you. Good luck with that! :p

I put it into a blood bag, i tested the blood and its A+. now i have to find another test kit to test myself -_- then i can use the iv on myself to give myself blood? That will solve my colorblindness?
Target Practice (DayZ) 1335 Posted December 19, 2013 No, it's cool - if you don't know, where better to ask than the community forums? :) Yes, if the blood types are compatible, then that will cure your vision issue. However, you can't iv yourself - you have to get someone else to do it to you.

Like do i have enough time to go look for another blood test kit AND a noob to do it on me?
Target Practice (DayZ) 1335 Posted December 19, 2013 Yeah, AFAIK there's no danger of it going bad or anything like that. One way to find out, I guess. :P

Felix (DayZ) 21 Posted December 19, 2013 Supposedly the HP regen is 1/sec while flagged, which means full health in less than an hour and a half. Blood is supposed to regen at 2 levels, 1/sec and 3/sec depending on water/energy state. So while gorging yourself on food and water constantly for a couple hours of play you should be back to max. My guess is that the triggers for the vision aren't being reset when you get back to higher amounts of health and blood. Saline, blood, maybe painkillers? all might act as triggers for the game to check your levels and update your vision, even if you're already full.
Clarkeh 58 Posted December 19, 2013 Before the last patch a friend of mine found a way of clearing blurry vision if its stuck and your on full health again apparently (i haven't tried this myself) if you go to the graphics options menu and then click cancel it will correct your blurry vision. thelonewarrior 886 Posted December 19, 2013 I've been fully fed and watered for 3 hours (found a nice load of supplies) and I still can't see and I'm moaning in painI've not been hit as I've shot every zombie since I got attacked by 4 and lost loads of blood, so yeah my health isn't regenerating
Felix (DayZ) 21 Posted December 19, 2013 It would be nice since this is an alpha that we'd have a debug view of our stats so we could determine what the cause was. Is the vision bad because the health and blood stats didn't fill back up? Is the vision bad because its not updating with the server that you're healed? Is it both? Is it the shock stat that's up that isn't resetting? Unless he's trying to keep the back end of this super secret, I really don't see why we don't have a full breakdown. ShokeR (DayZ) 29 Posted December 19, 2013 It's not realistic to get blood from food, If you get shot , just eat 5 cans of beans and you perfectly healthy , no this is not right.you need to find medical supplies and know how to use them know which is good for you and which might hurt you and things like that

You get energy and sometimes water from food. When you're well watered and fed, you regain blood as is natural. Values listed on the link there are what we saw from the pbo files from day 1. The issue isn't really a question of the system, but why the desaturation isn't letting up after the expected healing has occurred over hours. St. Jimmy 1631 Posted December 20, 2013 I got to say I've hated this all the time in the mod also. Not realistic and ruins all the immersion of the beautiful Chernarus :(
