DayZ standalone with a previous arma 2 ban

So I read that its a different game and therefor youre able to play standalone with a ban on arma 2, but does it also work on the same steam account?
Like, when I have arma 2 on my steam account but am banned on it, and if i buy the standalone now on the same steam account, will I be able to play it too?
