Frescomax3000 1 Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) so i've been playing for 2 days now, and everytime i log in to a server the colours for the surroundings are grey. The UI has colours, but thats it.Is it a glitch/bug or is it the bloodlevels of my character being low? have tried to overeat and overdrink for about an hour but no success in getting colours.i have been playing at daytime, and seem to get sunglare and that has some sort of colour to it, but the rest is grey.someone out there with thoughts about it or have the same problem? Target Practice (DayZ) 1335 Posted December 18, 2013 Yeah, sounds like your blood/health is low. If you can get one, try getting a friend to blood/saline bag you and see if that sorts it.
kichilron 8550 Posted December 18, 2013 Has to do with your health being low - go check this out: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154984-how-do-i-get-color-back/ http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/154039-beginners-guide/?p=1546786
erocean 21 Posted December 18, 2013 More than likely low health/blood. This is one thing I would however like to see changed, a blood meter on the side or in your inventory would be much better imo. I would much rather not loose color in this beautiful game.. and yes I understand they are trying to make it more difficult to see/play when you have blood loss, but after awhile if you cannot get healed it just gives me a headache. Maybe when I can manage to gather up more supplies I won't have to worry about it as much as I can just eat up and replenish my health, but I would just prefer my game colors to stay. Give us another way to detech our health :D other than that, good work so far. Enjoying my time!
Korsbaek 1778 Posted December 18, 2013 Eat and drink, then rest. Sit down on F3 to relax. This will make your blood regenerate. It takes time though.

eldritch (DayZ) 17 Posted December 18, 2013 pretty sure their is a bug where color does not return when u regain blood.I sat next to a water pump with a full mountain pack of food and went to town. Half hour later my screen is still in black and white. falling unconscious from zombie smacks and then having a friend revive with saline fixed the issue though. sausagekingofchicago 4711 Posted December 18, 2013 Just for the heck of it, make sure your gamma and brightness isn't cranked up. :D If not, then it's definitely your blood level.

v1adimirr 9 Posted December 18, 2013 I ate and drank until I was about to throw up, sat down for an hour, and there was no improvement in my condition of grayness. Either it's bugged or there need to be some sort of indicator that you're regaining health. I don't even want to play now until there is because I'm not sure if I'm close to death or not. Yeah I agree, I'm all for regenerating health over a long period of time, but I need to know via an indicator or temporary placeholder that my blood level is increasing (in general knowing the real time level would be nice too), it at least separates features from bugs at this stage. Once the game is stable, the indicator can be removed, amended etc... Edited December 18, 2013 by NickH85

The only way to tell shouldn't be to waste 2 hours of your life sitting in the woods. That's not realistic, it's just dumb.
slivniku@gmail.com 93 Posted December 18, 2013 when you eat and drink and wait, do you see Thirsty or Hungry icons in the Inventory?Have the same problem, but while Hungry icon in the inventory goes away, my character is always thirsty, although I also sit by the water pump and drink like crazy. Well, it could actually be a feature, eventually we may find out (forum users) that our characters are suffering of severe choler or soomething.
