My character has been wiped? Is this because of the new update?

Characters will be wiped occasionally due to new updates or bugs. Some servers have a spawn bug so you start with a new character and your old one will be overwritten. Also some people experienced a character wipe when changing the gender in the main menu. Please don't ask here in the forums every time your character gets wiped what caused it - it will happen a lot

 

On the other hand - if you know at some point what caused it you might file a bug report here: http://feedback.dayzgame.com/my_view_page.php (make sure the bug isn't already listed there. thanks!)
