Can I Run DayZ Retail (POST HERE)

Recommended Posts

Not sure what "high" actually means, but prepare to be disapointed, mainly in big cities, complicated indoors.

High means high settings as opposed to low settings. Dissapointed in what way?

We have the same hardware specs with the only difference that i have a cpu bottleneck. (AMD Phenom II x6 1075t)

I say you will play the game fine. In most places i have 33+ FPS with this crappy CPU . Only towns are a problem with me, 15-20 FPS tops.

Go for it.

Sell me your CPU :D

How well do you think I could run the game?

CPU:Intel® Core2 Duo CPU E6750 @ 2.66GHz

Video card: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS whit 768 MB video ram

OS: W7

Ram: 8gb

I would run the game on 1680x1050 resolution. Of course i could go lower to get better performance.

I am getting a computer, and I was wondering if it would run DayZ. The specs are. --->>>

Windows® 7   Intel® Core™ i5-4200M Processor (3M Cache, up to 3.1GHz)   Intel® HM87 Express Chipset   1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 750M Graphics   Hard Drive* 750GB Hard Drive (7200RPM)   8GB Memory

will it run DayZ?

Well, I know the feeling, when you think your PC is twice/trice as much powerful as is declared in requirements, and I can't achieve any good results anyway - mainly biggest towns and exploring of interriors is problem (atleast for my computer).

We can say high is having details set to high, or we can say high in meaning of maxing everything to high (HDR, PP, AA, AF etc etc...), for those settings I get unplayable results.

(AMD FX-6350@4,86 GHz, 8GB 1706 MHz Corsair, HD7790 OC 1GB @1100MHz)

But with your setup you can for sure find a satysfiing result.

The minimum specs are quite low compared to what i played on, and i only got 20-30 fps at best on lowest i could set, as well as loads of changes to the config files.

Laptop

1280x720

i5

Radeon HD 5950

4gb (8gb made little difference)

no SSD

I don't know exact, i can't bring up dxdiag, the laptop's gone now.

Edit: I realise it was probably my graphic that pulled the rest down for me. everything up to scratch but that.

You should get similar performance in the SA without much adjustment of graphics settings.

Regarding the upgrade, check if your motherboard can support an i5 3570K and look to put a great cooler on it so that you can overclock it.

Graphics card will be next, but check how much current your PSU can supply on the +12V rail first as it would be a shame for you to buy an R9 290 or GTX 780 and not have enough power...

I'd really like to be able to run the game on high and I am happy with 40-50 fps.

I'm playing on this rig at a slightly lower resolution with texture settings set to high, but other things like bloom and anti-aliasing turned off and it is running like a dream.

Cheers TB I thought it would run but just wanted to double check. When I upgrade I will most probably get a whole new system and use what I have solely for music movies internet TV etc. Saving up the $$$ for something awesome!

I've had 3 people now tell me that I should be able to run it at low quality, are they all wrong?

www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/1xdz7s/just_bought_dayz_getting_these_horrible_graphical/

I dont think it will run very well, or even be playable.

Type:                          Laptop

Monitor resolution:     1920x1080

CPU:                          Intel® Core i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40GHz (Turbo Boost: 3.4GHz)

Graphics card:           GeForce GTX 765M, 2GB, DDR5, 2000MHz

RAM:                         16GB, DDR3, 1600MHz, 2x8GB

SSD:                          64GB Caching only with regular 750GB SATA @ 7200 rpm

Any input would be nice. I've generally been able to play standard games such as Skyrim, and Bio Shock, and fallout NV at 60 fps on high/ultra setting.

How does this game compare to those? I don't expect perfect but will it at least be playable?

Keep in mind it is a laptop so I can only overclock so much and prefer not to for extended play.

Will run very nicely on Med/High settings at stock CPU clocks. Overclock that K past 4GHz for even better performance!

I get around 30-35 fps in wild and around 20 in cities.
