Jock McScottish 216 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) I don't know if its been mentioned before on this thread but I used this site to check if I could run Dayz. by typing your specs in to see what score your machine gets. Its straight to the point, your processor, video card and Ram will get a score out of 10, and a tick to say yes you can play, or an x to say no. Simple as that, and it puts you out of your misery once and for all instead of asking and praying for a reply here! http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=9221&game=DayZ Standalone just click on the link, scroll down to 'can I run Dayz standalone' and enter your machines specs. Simple as that. It worked for me, quickly let me know my old PC wasn't Dayz ready! Hope it helps  Edited February 6, 2014 by Jock McScottish

Torinx 36 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) Lots of answers to that in your other topic here - http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/171525-a-strange-request/ But... probably yes, but not very well at all, I think that would be the lucky outcome. maickkeli 0 Posted February 7, 2014 (edited) Play : YesEnjoy : No.Thanks, so do you mean the game could be playable or will FPS be so low that there's no change I'm gonna play the game more than 20 minutes? :| I really don't mind the graphics unless I get huge disadvantages compared to other players. edit. Nevermind. Edited February 8, 2014 by Maickkeli

I'd expect 30 FPS on low settings most of the time, half that in cities. I already bought the standalone, but I can't try it until tonight. I'm mainly wondering what kind of settings I should try.. Upgrading your CPU would help a lot if that's an option at some point in the near future. If so what can I do to make sure everything avaible is used btw this is my rig for my SolidWorks projects, dont really game too much on it, decided why the hell not. GB make any difference, or is the problem in the graphics card/cpu? You would just about run the game on that machine, but I think you'd struggle with low FPS on low graphics settings. 8GB RAM would help in a more powerful machine, but with that CPU and GPU it wouldn't do a whole lot unfortunately. Desktop or laptop? LaptopMonitor resolution:1440X900CPU: Intel®Core2 Duo CPU @2.40 GHzGraphics card:GeForce 9600M GTRAM:* 4.00GBSSD? (Yes/No) Yes You probably could just about run the game but I do not think it would be enjoyable due to low frame rates. Sorry! DesktopMonitor: 1920x1080 (or 6124 by 1080 with bezel comp for all 3)CPU: amd FX 8350 (stock 4.0, have gotten it stable at 5.3 so either option)GPU: 2x GTX 590 3gb EVGAram: 32gb (10gb cache/5gb for desktop so 16gb or so free)ssd: hybrid for this game possibly My concerns are would I have to drop the render resolution below 100% (thus fuzz up the image quality). You'd run fine in 1920x1080, I think 6124x1080 would be pushing it though. Maybe further down the line when the game is better optimised. The CPU OC would definitely be recommended as the RV engine is not well optimised for 8 core CPUs.
