Zombies and Doors/Ladders

I haven't played the SA yet, cause i'm still downloading it with my incredible fast internet connection. :wacko:

 

Are Zeds still able to open doors/walk through them and climb ladders like in the mod? Zombies climbing up ladders was one of the worst Zombie features in my opinion, because even for a zombie game it is just utterly unrealistic. Havent found a question for that in the forums, so sorry if this already exists.

I dont think ive seen zombies climb ladders, i might be wrong, but for doors i honestly havent seen that yet either, but all i know is that zombies run inside buildings which makes you re-think everything.

I don't think they climb. However- they run indoors and do all sorts of crazy stuff to make your life a pain. You are very likely to be trapped when climbing up ladders, though.

 

They are currently still experiencing problems with walls / doors, though. So they won't open them, they might just phase through them. That's actively being worked on to change it, though. So don't worry about it. :)

Bare in mind that the zombies in dayz (atleast in the mod) were not actually zombies, they are just infected, and there is actually a difference.

 

I dont know if they can still climb ladders as in the time i played i was way to busy being an axe murderer, how ever im so far pretty impressed with the zombie pathing, seemed pretty fluent to me.

 

There is still an issue with zombie clipping, i have seen them go through floors but not walls as of yet, but this is high on the dev teams "to fix lift".

Zombies

* Zombies clipping through floors/walls

* Zombies hitting through upper floors from the ground floor

* Low zombie numbers

* No zombie respawning

Zombies are a work in progress they are a very active area of development, we consider the current implementation a base level to commence further testing. Their AI was completely redeveloped, which means we need to come up with new (more efficient) methods of their interaction with the world, such as collision, as the ArmA way is not designed for thousands of AI to operate at once on this scale. This will be one of our most active areas of development.
