Canned food SA

It's been a while since I've played DayZ on the arma mod. In the Alpha, I couldn't eat the canned food. I am assuming I need a can opener or similar? Screwdriver, axe, wrench, nothing worked. Managed to pass out and die of starvation.

Gotta find a can opener champ.

 

There are plans to use knives and other sharp implements to open them down the line, I believe.

Indeed, there is a clear need of increasing the drop of can openers. It does not hurt having one too many laying around, since it is an extremly common item.

Sardines, peel back tops.

I thought screw drivers worked, guess I'd better check next time I'm in-game.

My favorite is Rice, a bit dry but worth its weight in gold.

Myself, a hardcore Heinz Baked Beans fan. For the release I bought one slab of 'em. Going to see how far I can stretch my cooking imagination.

Pretty sure I had a can of sardines also without the ability to eat it. I take it in the alpha you simply select say a screw driver, and drag it over the can? or similar? I couldn't figure out how to do it.

Should work in theory, even though I'm not 100% on the screwdriver, as I haven't tested it myself. But the Canned Tuna should be able to be opened without tools.

 

But I heard other than the canopener the screwdriver and the M4 bayonet / knife should work.
