Armadyl 3 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) hey i played a while back, while on one of the dayz island servers (i forget which one) a couple years ago...and realized battleye made quite a few mistakes...i had seen throughout the dayz mod battleye did little to stop hackers from flooding the servers (one of them spawned weapons and force everyone to fight eachother) it was a huge mess... and a serious problem with dayz mod... Iask if dayz standalone also uses battleye, or if it has it's own antihack system, because battleye seemed to be largely uneffective at stopping hackers inthe mod, and im wondering if this will be an inevitability in the full version. OrLoK 16187 Posted December 17, 2013 Hello there BE is/was a good system, the flaws were inherent to the open and trusting nature of the game itself. However, at this time DAYZ uses different security measures. I dont know if I can go into detail, so I wont. What you need to know is alot of time has been spent on ripping apart the engine to make it far more secure for the type of game that it is. Will "hackers" (i use the term advisedly) ever be excluded 100pc? Probably not. Will you see the issues that were once present in the mod? Certainly not. HIHBGaming 14 Posted December 17, 2013 (edited) If I'm not mistaken it uses BE in combination with Steam's VAC. Also most of the code is now server side which hinders the script kiddies from doing the shit that they do.Edit: I was wrong about the BE thing. Thanks Orlok ;) Edited December 17, 2013 by R.Neville
