In-Game Recording Device?

Recommended Posts

Just an idea. I feel it would be nice if there was a movie camera item as loot. It would require batteries. But you could tape it to a hat or your shoulder or something and record footage with it, and upload it to Steam. Maybe footage would be saved on a camera, so if someone found your camera, they could view the footage you recorded.

Edit: I feel Rocket should incorporate the zombies-killing-other-zombies-that-get-in-the-way "bug" as a feature. Would make the zombies less generic and seem more vicious. T'would also mean that it's not guaranteed that there's a player nearby if you see riled zombies, as they could be fighting over food or arguing

Would be cool to see in some point in the Standalone. I'd like to see something that was similar to the game Outlast with the camera but the battery should last quite awhile.

Most people would hold a video camera, not tape it to themselves.

However, I can see it being cool to record something, but I don't know how I feel about that.

It seems impractical for rocket to build a screen recording program.

When I suggested your life flashing before eyes when your dead people said in game screenshots and video saves are impossible...

Lol that would be sweet.

Raid someone, leave a tape and tape player with you finding their base, or killing them, ect.

But hard and impractical to implement.

Why use something in game when their ToDo list is enough to fill the next 10 years? Use an already existing one from a 3rd party and upload it to an already existing platform but hopefully without any music because people either use non licensed music so players in other countries can't watch them or they are just horrible/loud.

I think this is a good idea, but the other is probably not worth all the effort if it's even possible.

Why not recreate the events happening in the scene since all the game files and models are there.

Save it as a scene to be acted out inside your camera and not as a video?

The save for the video would be smaller for the server to remember.

There would have to be some sort of limit to length and cameras so the server isn't filled with random video clips ready to render.

Or just use Fraps ;)

FRAPS costs money and massive FPS drop while running. + Not connected to Steam

It would be a heavy breathing, chip munching, no shirt on, rage when door kills me mess of a video.

It would do that with your in-game camera too.

Unless you can live with 144p videos of course. Then it won't lag.

i'd love any item that lets you find out the story of the person you just killed. Although, I'd still prefer it as an in-game only video, not steam one. Would be really amazing to murder a guy that's currently recording and then see this all from his perspective.

Walk over to body fill whole camera with hand a hear a single gunshot.

Leave camera in supermarket for someone to find.

Why not? You could still see the video if you took the camera. But it would be better if you could upload the vids to Steam. Only your own vids, though
