Back after ~1.5 years, how is DayZ?

Hey guys, I stopped playing DayZ around Jul '12 as hackers had rendered the server I played on at the time unplayable. In your opinion, how has the game come since? I heard about news of a standalone client sometime soon so I thought that if it had come along in a good manner I should give it another play.

Whilst I may lack the eloquence of Gwraspe, his points are valid.

 

There are still instances of twattish script kiddies, but they are uncommon and if one chooses the correct sever then theyre almost unknown.

 

There's a vast amount of mods and maps available (see my sig for a rundown of some) but TBH I prefer vanilla as, for me, any derivative will need a long time to mature/bug fix and I want to separate the wheat from the chaff.

 

There's a whole new world outthere for you go explore.

As Orlok said, the scripter situation has gotten way better over time. It's nowhere near as bad as it was in mid/late 2012.

Load it up and check it out. There's a flavour for everyone now. Day z mod has been taken on by Raz0r and co now and has been developed fantastically and while it's a thousand time better these days than it was back last summer, theres still nuggets on public hive servers now and again (as with any game). Theres also many other versions that have their pros and cons, depends what you're looking for I guess. Be careful which servers you play on, Id recommend popular well established servers like the Musty games community servers.

I watch some movie of old times dayz is many things different now ;)

 

look inventory is perfect example of improve things also craft system and carry now 2 primary weapon  :D
