Non-enterable Houses

The easy solution to this issue is recognizing the house designs that spawn loot....also note the sheds that are enterable the outhouses ect. there are more spots in villages then you may think and some unenterable houses do spawn loot in front of the door if there is a small enterable ovehang in front of the door

I don't think trash cans should have anything other than junk cans and stuff, but making them lootable would be useful too.


Funny thing is' date=' if all the houses were accessible you couldn't have loot in all of them, so the complains would be "damm have to search all those houses and most of them are empty".

That's infinitely better than "too few buildings to loot in certain places."

I know, and many others do, but that doesn't change the fact that many buildings are useless and that some towns aren't worth visiting because they have no open buildings. Towns shouldn't have only one or two lootable buildings. Also, some of the small clusters of buildings alongside rural roads are useless because the vast majority of those are not lootable.

It makes it really hard to get anything worthwhile from a really large number of towns on the map, which forces players to cluster towards certain large towns. It's a huge waste of potential.

I too don't like non enter-able buildings. I think EVERY building should be able to be entered. If you don't want to spend time making an interior then get the building off the map.

I also think the idea of having some buildings locked and having to break into them sounds awesome and it would give a use to crowbars.

Unfortunately, making interiors for every building in Chernarus would take a ton more effort than it did for Takistan, so I understand if Bohemia won't make every Chernarus building enterable. However, if some system were added to let players loot any building, it wouldn't really matter that some buildings couldn't be entered; the outcome would be the same, you get loot.

What a very arrogant and idiotic post. Arma 2 was never made for something like Day Z so naturally there are going to be a few problems. If you took all the buildings off Day Z that weren't enter-able there'd be barely anything left.

Even for vanilla Arma2, making every building enterable would create interesting potential situations for urban combat. However, it's also not surprising that Bohemia didn't have the resources to initially make every building enterable. Now that Arma2 is almost three years old though, it's possible that there is some room for improvement as well as people who have the resources to make such an improvement.

Even making all currently non-enterable houses have one small hole that can accommodate a loot spawn would have a large impact on loot distribution.

I would love to have every building enterable, with heaps for loot up for grabs.. clothes, cutlery, jewellery, sunglasses, blankets, chemicals etc etc etc

But currently even in small towns without any actual enterable buildings, there are still outhouses and verandahs and awnings that can contain loot. It is still worth your while checking them out.

I did have a chuckle when I entered one of those outhouses and found a pile of "logs" on the seat. The irony was not lost on me.

OT: I think un-enterable houses should just have storage at the front door like the gear menu comes up and that's everything inside the house. It would be like if you were taking stuff out of a vehicle or backpack

I would prefer that you actually have to physically loot the inside of the house rather than stand outside and do some silly animation and have loot magically appear at your feet. Maybe some of the houses could be made enter-able but you have to use the hatchet to break the door down, keep your idea of making the crowbar and such more useful.
