Crawling into buildings

I would like to start off this post apologizing if there is already another post on this point. I did a quick search, but didn't find anything on this topic so here we go.

Here is a regular occurance for me since the recent zed adjustments:

I crawl 50-60m across a field risking certain death from bandits and zeds alike because I desperately need to eat or drink. I am doing my best to avoid all contact with zeds as I am alone and honestly do not feel like sprinting back up into the mountains and doing this all over again. So I take my time and watch the zeds LOS and scan the horizon constantly looking for bandits who want nothing more than to kill a helpless fool desperate enough to crawl this far. I finally get to a building that has steps on the front porch but cannot risk standing up as every zed and bandit alike within 50m will converge on me like Olympic track stars. Frustration finally overcomes me and I risk crouching so I can get into the building only to find another zed waiting for me inside. I shoot the zed in order to get that prized can of sardines, and sure enough...every darn zed that I just spent 20 minutes of my time avoiding comes running to block me in.

Here are my 2 suggestions:

1) Either reduce the number of eye bars back to 1.7.1.0 so that we can safely enter buildings surrounded by zeds or code a way to let us crawl into entrances.

2) Please do not spawn zeds inside buildings. It is challenging enough to get to buildings safely without alerting the entire town. Nothing is more frustrating than taking all of this time to stealth around a horde of zeds and finding one at your destination.

Ultimately, I am super greatful of all of the hard work going into this amazing mod. I will continue to play this alpha and hope that my clan gets approved for a server!

i get what you're saying but at the same time i like the disappointed feeling i get when i realize there are zombies inside a building. to counter this i usually pull the zombies inside away from the area, lose them/cap them, then head back inside (if i really have to be there).

having zombies spawn inside is awesome; if this happened for real, there will be zombies inside houses, and we would have to work out how to tackle the situation, if at all

I know that feel, bro, but at least not being able to crawl up steps is logical. What's more of a problem is crawling from one terrain to another (usually from dirt to the zed-resistant docks) and being FORCED to stand up, unlike when you just constantly bump into the steps.

Also, how do you know they spawned inside the building rather than AI'd their way in? If anything, you should ask that zeds don't enter buildings unless chasing someone.

You saying you couldn't crawl up a flight of stairs? If someone held a gun to my head I promise you I could crawl up a flight of stairs faster than a USMC Sniper.

I have certainly been bitten in the ass by randomly standing up from a crawl when entering or leaving a building. I would love to see this fixed it is probably an engine problem.

You saying you couldn't crawl up a flight of stairs? If someone held a gun to my head I promise you I could crawl up a flight of stairs faster than a USMC Sniper.

Of course it's possible in both RL and in-game, I was just trying to get my point across that terrain forcing you to stand without warning is more of a problem than getting the chance to strategically choose the right time to stand up, and enter a building before proning again. Either way, I would love the ability to crawl on stairs.

+1 There are a lot of various and random limitations with the Arma engine. Hopefully the HMFIC takes notice of these limitations and irons them out when the full version is released with either Arma 3, or as a standalone game.
