I've had this problem every time I re-install on a new computer. I have no idea how to fix it. HELP!

It's version 1.62 I've spent all day getting the patches working... Do i need to completely re-install he game? I installed it off amazon.

You are running Arma 2 you need to be running Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead.

Your shortcut should be like this =)

It's retail, I have launched them both multiple times before re installing dayz. I have installed that patch.

Also I can't seem to find the arma 2 1.11 patch anywhere! If someone could please link me to a reliable source to get it that would be great. That may be my problem.

Those don't work! I've tried those.. I can't get them to download or the link is nonexistent.I have got all the patches besides 1.11, and I can't find it anywhere

none of that is this guys problem guys its not doing the normal issue/warnings where you havn't activated the games before you try to play dayz. TheLazyEngineer if you want help add me on skype(hectichain) is my skype name.

 

 

 

and yes i did just make this account because i havn't seen the need to make a account before today because most times you guys fix the issue before i come along. :D

Alright I got the patch downloaded. but my arma 2 version currently is 1.06.70710, but when I try to run the patch for 1.05 to 1.11, I get an error message at 99% extraction that says "The system cannot find the file specified". How can I fix this so the patch will work?

I would start again, uninstall both games, download the patches again and then start fresh :)

 Are you running the games as adminsistrator(or steam as administrator if running through steam)  You shouldnt need to reinstall, just start both individually and run through to start menu, but make sure to change properties o the .exe to run as administrator. (otherwise it seems to have issue writing registry)

How do I set this up? Sorry I'm new to this...

Create a new shortcut n your desktop and just add them parameters to the shortcut.

First point to the arma exe

Then in the target line add the above to match were your location of arma is. (should be same as start in)

Isnt this a mod problem. Have you installed any mods to your arma 2??

 

By default the addons folder should be empty, its where you place any mod files except if you manage mods trough mod folders for example @dayz.

 

Any mod you have in addons folder has to have a signature file on the server you are trying to join. No signature it wont let you in. I always have that message when iv been editing in arma 2 and forget to remove mods from my addons folder before I launch dayz.
