Chernarus Map Addons

Recommended Posts

Just curious as to what you guys think of some of these map addons. Is it too cluttered? Is it cool how much Chernarus has changed with all these addons? All of them are made sure not to break immersion and not being too OP. I just wanted to get the normal everyday player's opinion. Now granted these are only a taste of the many map addons I have on my server. This is for DayZ Epoch

I love Vanilla Chernarus, but most people are already bored with it unfortunately. So servers compete on trying to create the most unique Chernarus experience.

I don't mind extra additions as it gives one something to explore. And as long as they're made good and not floating barns (Broken Point *coughcough*) it really can be refreshing.

Noone ever said Chernarus shouldn't be changed. Some people just don't like change - but what is the standalone doing then? It changes the map as well.

All of those people that smack map additions on their servers: Do it - feel free to do it - but do it properly.

BY not too OP, did you mean a place with 6 high end loot barracks?

that seems a bit OP.

nice additions though. outside of the bush in the middle of the road.

I have always liked add ons to Chernarus when done correctly. Coastal barracks are not my cup of tea, but adding some high end loot points to places like the NEAF and the middle of the map makes the map more interesting. Vanilla Chernarus got stale after exploring the NE and middle you realized there was not much value to making those trips and people concentrated on Cherno, Elektro, NWAF, and Stary. If a server has some well placed add ons it can add points of interest that really spice the map up. The prison looks OP, but I would have to know the amount of AI guarding the place to really say it is or is not. If it is high risk then the high reward is merited. If you can just walk in then maybe it is a little OP (but who cares if that is what you enjoy that is what you enjoy). The NEAF looks pretty cool though with all of the additions, always thought that airfield was boring and desolate.

Well for along time I was die hard dayz cherno vanilla addict liking the start with flashlight and bandage.  Didn't like the high end military equipment and sachel charge era but finally started epoch. Before epoch we had server in AU that was cutting edge with base building way before epoch but not the metals and traders.

But Epoch is king now and addons makes it worth while to scrounge around and get enough metals to carve out your own little empire of wooden and some metal buildings.

Recently I have inducted about 15 new spots in my Grumpyworld 70.36.96.106:4020  and with sarge ai and missions with lots of extra npc bandit, military and civilian roaming around or guarding or patroling it makes for a wild place.

So I say keep building new ideas and expanding the play and maybe it will perk your interest  to try and survive.......
