Can someone please tell me how to pitch a tent?

Returning player here and I've come across quite a few new things... Mostly, and to my surprise pitching a tent isn't the same anymore.

 

Cut a long story short... Found nice loot, found a tent, went to pitch it in my old spot (against a house wall) and was told to press Q and E to help locate it. I set it up in a happy spot but couldn't work out how to place it. Ended up shooting my rifle and being mobbed by 1000 zombies. Good bye ghillie suit and assault rifle.

Right click on the tent in your inventory.

Right click on the tent in your inventory. 

 

It's changed. You right click to pitch tent then you can move the tent around in the open and press Q or E to slightly ajust it. The tent icon is missing from your inventory and I don't know how to place it

You could try getting drinks at the Tilted Kilt. Seems to work for a lot of people.

Is there an antihack installed on the server you're playing on by any chance? Or possibly any customscripts changing your scrollwheeloptions?

 

The reason I am asking: It now is a scrollwheeloption and when you are done placing it you should get the option to "Complete Build" when scrolling your mousewheel.

 

If not either the antihack or a customscript fucked it up. :)

You can't place tents, tanktraps, wirefencekits etc. inside buildings. Make sure the tent wires aren't sticking through a wall. Just use the scroll button to place things.

i haven't found a tent since the changes to the tents hit, but if i am informed correctly, you cant hide your tents inside map objects anymore..

It will complete the build, but not safe it to the Database - so it will be gone after restart.
