Is it true that tank traps get removed after 2 days?

I want to put them round my tents to stop myself from driving over them, but someone told me that after 2 days they just disappear. Is it true?

This can vary greatly from server to server, not sure what the current system is for the official hive but some private servers may have a script that removes items like tank traps after a set time, some may just leave them alone.
