Buy and install Arma 2: Combined Operations, then install DayZ through Dayzcommander.

You can also use Dayzcommander to find and join servers.

NOO! Don't make it easy for them. DayZ is meant to be hard and unforgiving, just from the beginning.

TO be honest, he who masters the install process can master the game.

This should give you a hint already.

Just make sure have "ARMA 2" and "ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead" installed, preferably those both exactly. There are other ways with ARMA Free, but those will just create more problems for you, if you don't even know where to start.

  • Easiest way to obtain those 2 is using Steam.

  • Install "ARMA 2" first and run it once.

  • Then install "Operation Arrowhead" and run that as well.

  • Now you only need DayZ Commander, which can install everything for you.

And from that point you can pretty much start already.

If you encoutner any further problems feel free to contact me.
