PvP and admins. Any advice?

Recommended Posts

At the end of the day, this is a game, and it's meant to be enjoyed as one. I spent almost a month scripting and rebuilding the Takistan map on my server, and after all that work, there's no way I'm not going to have some fun with it.

My community has figured out that I'm a pretty strict admin, so there's never really any complaints. Personally, I don't consider DayZ any fun unless it's pinning the stress meter, which precludes cheating. I do play and admin under different names, and only answer admin issues through my Dart console.

I'd also say that if you eventually break down and cheat, you're probably going to get caught, so don't do it. I've seen it happen on other servers, and it's nasty. If you want to really be sure, get another admin, and only play when they're on (and possibly watching you).

Your  fellow players  will recognize if you abuse your power and they will also recognize if you do not abuse your power.   Get a decent playerbase and they will support you if you are a good admin.

I always went back to servers that had good admins:

Keyhole

Rapedungeon

BMRF

These types or servers can be hard to find at times though!   Make rules and stick by them!

I'm a little confused - What rules could you possibly be enforcing on a PvP server? I don't have admin cheats installed on my servers, so there's no way to abuse them. :)

BTW, you do not have to have admin cheats installed in order to abuse your administrative powers.

Every server has rules.

No Side Chat

Swear Words/racism

someone calling Hacker...

Someone hacking in gear.

TONS of things to admin on PVP servers, you being an admin and being blind to this is puzzling at the least.(nevermind, your a PVE admin)

I'm with Applejaxc on that one and what said Abuse the Powers and suffer the concequences ,  Hack like a Hacker and get Banned like Hacker.

Out of the different game types I've Admin'd on servers one rule always sticks with me ........ End of the day its only Game.
