mercules 1290 Posted October 29, 2013 they are god ! not saying that as trying to be clever, the power and clout they have is massive. dayz gains from them not the other way round. not being derogatory Microshaft are like mount everest and BI a grain of rice in comparison. as said if the arrangement was greated by both parties then its simple it gets ported and as said previously its nothing but money which stops it coming to xbox one and not the control methods as some suggest. Until you stop and look at games that have been built for console and PC release. DC Universe: Online, for example forces you to choose 6 active abilities and everything is otherwise built up using combos. Why are you limited to that? So that they can fit those actions on a control. By contract EQII, Rifts, Guild Wars 2, DDO, even Champions and City of Heroes when they were still active allow hundreds of possible power triggers and macros. Difference? One is designed to fit with a controller in mind. They "could" port a game with complex controls like this over, but it would have to lose some things first. joopz23 8 Posted October 29, 2013 To be fair DayZ is still extremely buggy and still being worked on, so I doubt a single string of code will be added to PS4 for a long time and Microsoft will probably turn it down.
monoking 22 Posted October 30, 2013 I don't think xbone would able to handle DayZ if they can't even make the game use all cores properly yet now and they even neglected it for arma3. The cpu is clocked at 1.75ghz and we all know arma 2 isn't properly multithreaded it will probably a slideshow. Unless they are willing to put lots of time and money to rewrite the engine from scratch to use the full power of the xbone. Why not the Ps3? It has less obstacles from Microsoft and the gpu is somewhat more powerful.

King of kong 1117 Posted October 30, 2013 First, I tried to search for a similar topic, with no luck in results. I know people have talked about Day Z for PS4, but what about the Xbox One? With MicroCrap's reversal of their idiotic DRM policies and them opening up to Indies.. Why not?Over the weekend I purchased GTA5 and was playing that online. While doing so, I was thinking, "You know, if GTA5 Online can work this well on the Xbox360.. I don't see why Day Z couldn't work even better on the Xbox One"I can see it working. Sure, you might have lower quality textures and smaller servers. But in terms of controls you could fit in double-clicks and stuff. Movement sticks, inventory button, jump, sprint button, drivin' controls. Fuck dem' elitists.

It is also a ton of steamin' horse shite in terms of download speed, ease of use, interface etc. And the controller can cause alot of thumb pain if held for awhile. Diggydug (DayZ) 331 Posted October 30, 2013 Neither current gen should even be considered. If it were to happen it wouldn't be soon and next-gen would be the way to go. But if you ask me, it wouldn't be the same DayZ experience for various reasons on console. Hell, the KoS would be worse, no doubt, as fewer people seem to have mics, and most people are there for some quick fun, not an investment of time into a character. People would rage about the bugs. People would rage about lack of updates, which would take even longer. People would likely be frustrated with clunky controls. Imagine trying to find that canteen your pal dropped for you with a joystick. It's hard enough with a mouse, looking over the ground constantly trying to get the option. Plus ALL servers would be Vanilla, and most of the DayZ audience doesn't even play that and prefer tons of vehicles and guns.
