After a year and a half of development time, we'd like to to continue to keep Commander free and sustainable. So, we have chosen to follow in the footsteps of Sourceforge's new DevShare program as a fair (and free) way to make that happen.

We have partnered with AdKnowledge (run by ex-Google COO) to provide a new installer, which presents you with optional software packages during installation.
  • Every offer is opt-in, nothing will be installed without your permission. There are no root-kits, viruses, or silently installed software.  We are working to get rid of the false-positive detection by some anti-virus products.
  • You are not required to install any offers.
  • On the website, the old installer download is available as a link directly under the main install button labeled "old installer download".  The old installer will continue to receive updates with new Commander versions.
  • DZC's auto-update feature will also continue to work as-is, and not automatically install (nor prompt you to install) additional software.

There is also some big news coming soon, so stay tuned.

After lots of feedback - the new Installer has been taken down and replaced with the old one.

Definitely won't be updating/using this launcher for DayZ any more.  Time to go back to Six or find a new one.

It has been fixed.

Look here: http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/149502-virustotal-vs-dayz-commander/ (read the whole thing, or just the end).

EDIT:

If you don't want to click the link, here's a quote from dotjosh:

"I've removed the new installer completely from my website, and I'm only hosting/linking to the original one.

it's clear it wasn't working out, people seemed to not be reading the text on the website nor in the installer itself more often than not.   My apologies for any trouble this caused anyone.

It's worth noting that any of the software you unintentionally installed can be uninstalled via add/remove programs (like the text said) - but if you are still having trouble let me know, and I'll give you a hand."

It's old news people, come on and do keep up :)

New installer has been binned and it only affected new installs, existing and future installs will be as normal.

Why? What's wrong with it?
