More CDF Stuff.

Hello.

From the recent Dev Vlogs it seems that hey're focusing on western kit more than Eastern (U.S Army Kit and Weapons). I thought it would be interesting if we could have more Chernarus Defence Force Equipment. Maybe a CDF clothing set or something? MI-17 Heli-Crashes? UAZ Vehicle Wrecks instead of Humvee?

There should be a lot of CDF equipment (vehicles, weapons, etc), however in the Chernaran Campaign US forces were deployed in significant numbers and the CDF got supplies with enough gear from them, + what was left behind, + what the Russians obtained that it makes sense for M16s, etc to be around Chernarus as well.

 

I'd like to see the availability of American weapons close to the availability of MILITARY-GRADE CDF/Russian weapons, however ammo for the latter should be much more common than the former.

There should still be a difference in numbers concerning the numbers of US and CDF/Russian equipment especially small arms, the conflict with the US is very short compared to the time they had to equip the CDF military with russian weapons, and the russians also collaborated with the Chedakis afaik...more russian gear. I don't think you will find that many western vehicles compared to russian ones either. Didn't they only have that one carrier close by? It wasn't even a big one.

I think i will not be playing the SA but rather a well thought out version of the mod if they go this way...and i was pretty sure they would stick to their course for an authentic game experience. I'll be joining depending on the list of what you can find ( promarily the origon of the weapons ). The alpha will take a long time anyway...i'll stick to a working version so far.

Yes, how many guns and humvees did that aircraft carrier have on it?

I know for a fact there isn't nearly as many hueys on that aircraft carrier as there is crashed on the map at one point.

The Tarawa class ships are designed to embark a reinforced battalion of the United States Marine Corps and their equipment.

 

Did they deploy that many units in the Chernarus campaign?

Where do you get that from? Yeah, Rocket shows the M4, but only because that's the one they have finished at this point - but he also points out that the mainfocus is going to be on AK-Variants and that he just wanted to show the M4, because it's good to show at this point.

Yeah, you're probably right. My version of the events leading to DayZ start shortly after the Chernarus campaign when spoiler alerts happened and would've caused a large existence of M16s, etc.

Yeah, I know that. It seems strange to focus so much on an extremely rare gun though, why waste so much effort on a single gun instead of features, performance etc.

The way I understood it was that that form of effort is going to be spent on all the guns to make it believable (with all the attachments and such.)

It simply happens to be the one finished at this point.
