Kicked for PublicVariable #1 after patching to 1.8.0.3?

So after updating from 1.8.0.2 to 1.8.0.3 this afternoon, I've been kicked immediately or within minutes of joining any server for PublicVariable #1. I've googled and otherwise searched for said PublicVariable number, but I've yet to see another person who's encountered #1. 

 

What's this all about, and anything I can do about it?
