Standalone River

Recommended Posts

A large rapid river somewhere on the map. Could serve as a valuable resource, trading area, and a challenge when crossing.

I heard that the geographical terrain in Chernarus could prove a flowing river challenging. It hasn't been confirmed or denied yet. I'd like to see some form of river flow :)

A flowing river can't really be done with the Arma engine from my understanding.  On a lot of custom maps, lakes and 'rivers' are at or bellow sea level.

Devs said they liked the idea but running water was the problem before.

But if they like it, then they have definately put some thinking into it.

If it can be done it will be done, otherwise unfortunately we probably won't see any rivers because they will look crappy with the limitations.

Due to the engine all waterways have to be at sea level since they merge into the sea. At least that is what i have heard on the grapevine.  Not sure if this can be changed for SA but i would love a river system to run through the map.

Also try the search function as this has been suggested a few times before.
