rabb1t 13 Posted June 21, 2012 Ever since the 1.7.1 update, zombie spawn rates are way too fast. I was in a three man team trying to raid a supermarket and two of us go in while one kept watch for other survivors with a DMR on a hill behind the town. We both go in no problem and avoided zombies but while we were INSIDE the building with all doors closed, a zombie saw us through the wall and I was forced to shoot him when he came in. Another zombie came in and I had to shoot him as well and that's when the horde came.We killed about 20 before the friend with the DMR told us they kept respawning and rushing for the store. I ended up killing 69 zombies just by myself with an AKM and my 1911 before being killed. My other friend killed 30-40 with a shotgun and Makarov. There was at least 15 or so in the building when I died and a lot more on the way. This is the first time we tried running a supermarket since the 1.7.1 update. The same thing happened before when we went to a barn but managed to get out and lose them when we were low on ammo and they kept spawning.
SgtHydra 0 Posted June 21, 2012 I've thought about it like a simulation of a horde coming at you. Like, a horde of a hundred or so.You can't have that just sitting around in a single town, so a fast respawn rate makes up for it.However, there should be a way to at least make such a situation winnable for at least well equiptted groups. You know, kill x amount and the respawn rate in that town dips to zero for five minutes. Give you time to either gtho or prep for the next wave.

The guy with the DMR on the hill watching over the town told us that it was an endless spawn of them. It wouldn't even have happened if the one didn't see us through the wall, which is supposedly fixed several times by now. I was getting hit through the wall too during the last stand, which was also supposedly fixed.

Consider what it attempts to replicate, however poorly. The horde should remain, imho, but should not be endless.
