Dekkymane 145 Posted October 10, 2013 Editor mode, sure why not but singleplayer I dunno about that, Yes not everyone has 24/7 accsess to the interwebs but DayZ is a pure multiplayer game and it should stay that way. Good ideas though.
enforcer1975 1111 Posted October 10, 2013 (edited) people like you, sir, are why the DayZ community is shit. It's more than just shoot people for fun, dumbass; Rocket WANTS people to work together to do better things. You would have to get rid of boredom first...we don't know how rocket wants to do that until we see for ourselves. Rarity won't change the player mentality at all. And the ability to build camps or houses or vehicles wont do either. Since i started playing again i really didn't see any difference other than it beeing more difficult to find stuff ( at least where i play ) and when you got enough you just go play TDM with others. I had such a case just yesterday, 14 players, 8 of them doing tdm out of boredom with DMRs and Armalites, 1 freshspawn killing my buddy in the staircase because my buddy isn't the "shoot freshspawns guy"...so he was taken out..i shot the guy when he wanted to loot him and we got his stuff back. It's basically still the same...it just takes longer and actually nobody seems to want to "live" in the game, the only tiem plyers work together is when they know eachother and when they tdm against another team instead of trying to communicate ( verbally ). I was asked by another player if i wanted to build a camp with him but since the other server closed due to lack of players that problem was solved anyway. At least you don't get übermilitary loot unless the admin tweaks the loot tables. Edited October 10, 2013 by Enforcer
Cormyr 39 Posted October 10, 2013 An editor would be much appreciated. Would be nice to at least, host a game and if ya choose, put a password up and be the only one on the server, or allow a couple friends to join ya.
TSG1100 0 Posted April 12, 2014 (edited) This is what rocket said on a Question Answer forum for singleplayerQ: I have to ask: Will there be a single player option with DayZ standalone? If so, will there be roving NPCs that function on a need->get kind of mentality to prevent them from starving to death?A: Probably. But I am unlikely to work on that. Later once this is successful we might get a team to do that or we will open it up to the community. Edited April 12, 2014 by TSG1100
blackberrygoo 1416 Posted April 24, 2014 Honestly if npcs were to be worked on I wouldn't mind a single player side of this game ... When I get bored of having to always be observant I'd probly switch over to single player to have some mindless fun ....
