Rinner23 5 Posted June 21, 2012 No I'm obviously not really advocating a ban I'm just trying to make the point that complaining about people hacking and then exploiting yourself is one and the same thing :)
Lopz 2 Posted June 21, 2012 Same apply to you, Rinner. Having a great time discussing this.Anyway, back on topic.I think there should be a new way to enforce the servers to update to the latest version, this way people would stop abusing this.I don't think these exploits apply as a thin line between hacking, they are two different things. When you hack, you are aware you are using third programs to gain an advantage, but when exploiting this 'glitch', you are taking advantage of a flaw (again, specially on the alpha test of a game) for some small benefit. So, if we are going to give out bans for that, why would i risk getting banned because i used a flaw to get myself a crappy makarov and not just start hacking and get myself nukes and screw the whole game? You get what i mean?Doctor Who:Yup, it's a completely new show, as you can see, Russel T Davis stopped writing episodes after Tennant, which is why i think they decided to change the whole thing.I agree that he must embrace his changes, and that's why i did not stop watching, it still has my complete attention. We can't really compare the new/old, we can compare the Doctors. Just like the 10th is different from the 11th, and also from the 9th.It's my opinion that David was the greatest doctor, he would always make me laugh, and i believe he was a great actor.I can't wait for the new season, any idea when it's coming around?Wall o' text! Dekatris 0 Posted June 21, 2012 Instead of saying that you hope everyone starts taking advantage of an exploit in the game and that the current system is retarded... why don't you be constructive and post something in the suggestions forum about WHY you think it doesn't work and YOUR idea as to what would be a better option? Saying "this is stupid' date=' go back to how it was" doesn't count either. In doing this you would be actually doing what is intended of you as part of this alpha.[/quote']Because I know this issue has been discussed ad nauseum. There are a few reasons for and few against and all have been aired quite well. Going there and saying something will be like pissing in the ocean. The decision has been made by Rocket and crew. He can make his mod however he wants, and for as long as I am allowed to, I am going to voice my displeasure with elements of the game that he is trying to make as I please. I'm sure the developers are big boys and can see past my frustration and infer "that's one vote against," if they even care what some angry person on the internet has to say. There has been a lot of discussion regarding "How has this game NOT been made yet?!" among my friends in that the concept is great. In the thick of it, here in these forums, we see why. The gameplay is contentious and caters to VERY diverse play styles - you see it every time you look at these forums. There are people that play for different reasons and look for different things. Some want an action packed game, some one a realistic survival experience, and this leads to a huge problem from a practical standpoint. This game is being built by people that are in the military sim world, which, while good for what it is, caters to a relatively small market. This concept has huge potential to cater to a much larger market, and is in fact doing just that, drawing in tons of people that want to shoot some zombies and shoot some other survivors.Rocket has a choice to make; does he cater to the old audience and stifle the potential of the game's success, or cater to the larger audience and sacrifice credibility, does he try to strike a balance and force both sides to compromise? Moves like this cater blankly to the "realism" angle of the sim crew, and I think that is a bad decision because it is limiting the success of the final version of the game by immediately turning people off to something that could, in my view, maintain plenty of realism while still being fun enough to pull in a wider audience. That's why I say this is retarded. There is plenty of wiggle room to make all of these people happy, but a decision has been made to specifically cater to one side for seemingly no reason at all...Maybe in the context of a finished game this could made to make sense through some design element or mechanic, but if that's the case, there are a TON of things that would be more important to test in an alpha environment than how difficult you can make it to get to the part where you can actually check the game mechanics. Aitloian 11 Posted June 21, 2012 I have your same feeling man.I just got in a heated argument in a livestream chat. A dude disconnected to avoid dieing from a zombie hord he aggroed on his own damn fault (wasn't the streamer some random he joined up with) and some guy in the chat said that since rocket hasn't fixed it there's no reason you shouldn't use it. And its not cheating its using an exploit. That's what he said to me lol. Like people actually think its legit to use these bugs and exploits like rolling back your version to get a gun.Oh crap meant to post this, and spawning without a gun really isn't that hard lol. Molten 0 Posted June 22, 2012 Oh crap meant to post this' date=' and spawning without a gun really isn't that hard lol.[/quote']I guess it is if all you want to do is play CS.As for Rocket choosing what audience to cater to that's what big game companies do and why all games are alike.Thankfully he can make the Mod how he wants to make it which is imo what gave this mod soul.If you look at the hotfixes he obviously listens, but in the end I don't think he thinks in terms of making this for any particular type of player.Using exploits means you failed, simple as.
